Question about Nissan Frontier

1 Answer

I bought a 2005 nissan frontier 4x4. 111000 miles. I have no problems with my radiator or Transmission but would it be worth replacing a radiator, transmission cooler for a preventive measure?

I havent done nothing yet but I am wondering if it would be a good idea to do a preventive measure to avoid having a problem with a defective Tranny or Radiator. if so what would be the best

Yes absolutely. Better performance and very easy to install get a high capacity one from local parts store. Especially on that vehicle

2007 Nissan pathfinder radiator coolant mixing with transmission fluid

This is a common problem with the radiators in the Pathfinders and Frontiers, Nissan is aware of this and have extended the warranty to 80k miles for this issue. The ATF fluid is cooled in the lower half of the radiator and when the radiator fails the two fluids mix causing failure to the transmisson if not addressed immeadiately. You should bring your vehicle to Nissan and have it looked at ASAP. If caught soon enough you can flush the tranny and replace the radiator and be okay. if not then you are looking at rebuilding/replacing the transmission. Hope this helps

I bought a 2005 Nissan Frontier back in 2010 and have never had problems with it. Recently though, I have heard a whining, albeit slight, and I'm wondering if it could be a belt. I notice any diff

Its either a belt, or one of the pulleys. Take a chunk of hose and while the truck is running, place the hose by each pulley, put it next to your ear, and listen for rattling or grinding noises coming from the bearings. It could be low power steering fluid as well or a pump starting to wear.

I have a Titan 2008 pickup and oil is in my radiator. What happened? What could of caused the oil to go to the radiator?

Bad transmission oil cooler, in radiator. Install a new radiator. Not one from a dealer. Hope your trans is not shot. All 2nd generation frontiers, pathfinders from 2005 to 2007 or 8 have that problem, and all end up with ruined trans, and Nissan won't help you.

2005 Nissan Frontier transmission fluid leaking into the radiatior.

you have a possible leak inside the bottom tank which the fluid runs through to be cooled before it returns to the transmission.
It is like a little tank inside the bottom tank and if that leaks the fluid will mix with the water.
You will have to have the bottom tank removed to repair the problem or buy another radiator

My 2005 nissan frontier overheats while sitting still what is wrong with it?

Sounds like coolant isn't circulating. While moving engine making pump circulate coolant and fresh air hitting front of radiator. At idle or a stop, engine not making pump run as fast and there is no fresh air hiiting radiator ( especially if fan isn't working properly) Check out water pump and cooling fan.

After the coolant leaks into the transmission, which apparently is normal, and my transmission guy has replaced everything and it still turns off 4th gear........what do you do?

Mazie, Slater, Katz & Freeman, LLC is putting together a class action lawsuit against Nissan Motor Company related to issues where a leak from the radiator into the transmission is causing radiator and transmission failure. This problem is prevalent on several 2005, 2006 Nissan Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder models. My vehicle is a 2006 Nissan Frontier. Please share your information so Nissan will have to accept responsibility for their defect. Go to www.transmission-lawsuit.com to share your details.

Very common problem. This piece is covered by Nissan for 60000 miles or 5 years. And its most likely one of the front u-joints that failed.
