Plug test light, coil packs? pressure test, check heads, valves, fuel injector? going to need a diagnostic on that one, unless you got the tools, take it to the er and get a rundown, anyone with a proper diagnostic computer should be able to do it

SOURCE: Cylinder #1 misfire on a Ford Taurus SHO

Did you check the condition of the spark plug? If the plug is good do a compression check; a very low reading could indicate a sticking intake valve (sticking open). The easyest and cheapest way to fix a sticking valve is to introduce 1/2 can of Sea Foam into the air intake manafold; just follow the instructions on the can except you will use 1/2 can instead of 1/3 can. That Yamaha motor from what I have found collects tons of gunk on the valve stems. Good luck.

SOURCE: cylinder 1 misfire

Have you tried clearing the code and go from there? Also maybe try unhooking the negative battery cable for awhile and that will reset it as well then see if it comes back to cylinder one. It's usually best to do all plugs and wires at the same time. Coils get expensive so I can see only replacing them when needed

SOURCE: What would cause a misfire of #1 cylinder on 2000 ford expedition 5.4 liter engine?

these have a problem with coil packs and ignition wires. check the plug it may need replacing, but change all the plugs not just the one. you could have a dirty or a bad injector for that cylinder or even a vacuum leak at the intake for that cylinder. something else is you could have poor compression on that cylinder.

P0316 p0301

both codes signify a misfire code 301 is misfire in cylinder 1 and code 316 is misfire detected in the first 1000 rpms from the sound of a 2004 im guessing it has coil on plugs meaning a boot and wires from the boot to the computer those boots can be real espensive but your fuel injector could of gone out in cylinder 1 as well

How can you fix a cylinder 3 misfire on a 2003 ford mustang

Hi hope I can help.
1.Fist change the spark plug. this is the main cause of most misfires,
2.If that don't work switch your coils. (remove one of your other coils and switch it with the #3 coil. If the misfire moves to the other cylinder then you know you have a bad coil and it need to be replaced.
3.preform a compression test.
4 Also check your fuel pressure.
Hope this helps

2000 Mustang: which is the position for the wires for the sporck...

For the 2000 Ford Mustang:
Based on your question you should have the 3.8L V6 and not the 4.6L SOHC or DOHC V8; however I have included all below.

For the 3.8L V6:
Firing Order:
1-4-2-5-3-6
Cylinders:
......(back)......
|..3..|.......|..6..|
|..2..|.......|..5..|
|..1..|.......|..4..|
......(front)
Ignition Coil Connections:
....(back).....
|..1...2...3..|
|..5...6...4..|-this is correct (564).
....(front)

For the 4.6L SOHC and DOHC:
Firing Order:
1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
Cylinders:
........(back).........
|...4...|......|...8...|
|...3...|......|...7...|
|...2...|......|...6...|
|...1...|......|...5...|
........(front)

Ford mustang - year 2000 - 3.8 liter. The coil pack is out?

I replaced the coil pack to no avail. I also purchase a code reader while at the auto parts store. This device told me cylinder 3 was misfiring (P0303). I found that the spark plug wire had shorted out on the manifold sensor tubes. Replaced that wire and done.

I highly recommend keeping a code reader in your car tool kit. very useful.
