I need a wiring diagram for a 1.9 Deisel 91 Talbot J5

Searched the web for anyone who can supply one. My ignition is dead but the battery is ok. Hazards work but no lights other than internal and parking lights

Looking for a wiring diagram to fix an open in a wire going to my fuel evap valve at rear of truck. Engine code pointed me in that direction. I checked the valve manally and it is fine.


If you run a wire directly from the battery to the valve and it works, then you will know the valve is ok. That will mean you have a wiring problem or a power supply problem. I would imagine that the valve is operated via the ignition system somehow. You will need to trace the wire all the way to its supply. Sorry but I cant help with a diagram.

To be more specific its a 91 eldorado. i have the wiring grid for the bcm but can't locate a relay. everything i read suggested control module/resistor but nothing changed with a new one.

what engine?????????? is it an engine issue???????
3.0, 4.5,4.6l or 4.9Liter ? DOHC engine>?

what country> (guess USA, but how would i know that?)
BCM a 91 has a BCM. ill look that up, GRid what is a grid.?
why not post the symptoms and get GREAT advice.?
I see no BCM, (body computer in 1991 only the PCM /ECU)

ok, you said, blower runs with the ignition key removed.
this is NOT a blower problem, its a KEY issue.(circuiT)
AH, GRID, you mean a SCHEMTIC, or wiring diagram.

sadly my online source the climate control module is not covered.

Id check my ignition key (off) the pins on the switch proper
do not have power on the output pins.
this car has yellow wire that is hot at all times
but the others must be dead key off.
other key facts. no pun

under dash "intererior relay center"
pull the relays 1 by one ,see if the blower goes off, be a big clue.

what controls this in 1991 ive not a clue.

PCM?? No they are wrong I think, keep looking at every wire fuse 30 supplies power to, you will need buy the factory wiring diagrams.

Is it a big job to renew rear engine mount on a 1993 talbot express j5 2.5 non turbo diesil


How hard it is to do is a relative question based on experience levels. It is not a complex job to perform. You will need to raise and support the motor while you're working on the mount enough to be able to achieve clearance to remove the old mount and put the new one into place.

I sent you problem about '91 olds without ignition or pwr windows,locks or trunk. You suggested i try checking fusable links on starter but they're all ok except for one purple wire coming from starter...


You should have recieved a reply from me on your other post. If not,

The purple wire is the power supply to engage the starter solenoid when you turn the key to the crank position. It should only have power when you are trying to start so thats nothing to worry about right now. Follow the positive battery cable from the battery. There is another fusible link that supplies power to the ignition switch. For the life of me I can't remember specifically where is it but I do know it is under the hood somewhere along one of the positive cables.

Map light fuse on 2008 f 350????


The interior map lamps are powered buy the battery saver relay ( non serviceable relay ) Which is powered by Fuse #25 ( cab fuse panel ).
This is for the engine compartment and illuminated vanity lamps, as well as the map lights.

The FET ( Field-Effect Transistor ) shows the fuse #9 also on it. ( marked interior lighting ), which power the interior lamps ( door / switch ).

Could be a few things if both those fuses are OK.

1. The map / interior lamp combos are usually dual element bulbs, which means if the interior lamps ( door or dimer switch on headlamp panel ) are OK, it could still be a burn out bulb.

2. The FET is having an issue from a dead short ( blown bulb or dead short to ground ). Until the short is correct, the FET will not turn back on.

Start with checking Fuse #9 ( marked as Fuse #8 in the diagram, but that shows headlamp ), which is to the interior lamps, and drives 1 side of the FET.

Thick wires at IGN SW .... Red(s) - supply power from the battery to the IGN switch ... Pink - ignition supply ... Orange - Accessory power ... Purple most RWD sometimes (Yellow most FWD) - Starter .. Did I miss any? It's been a while The thin wires on the IGN swich are for key sense and VATS (if applicable)

If everything is turning on, and there's power... check for 12V at the alternator. it may be out now.... or a connector came loose, or wire broke.

Ok start from the beginning, you are going to need a factory wiring diagram to make sure you are connecting the wires to the ignition coil where I believe you need to start
