Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

2010 Acura TSX V6. When putting the car in drive it is making a vibrating noise until the car is up to 30mph. It almost sounds like a bad speaker but is not. Having a hard time figuring out where it's coming from. Also it wants to make a stalling noise in second gear.

SOURCE: 2003 Acura MDX, makes noise and vibration while driving.

If it happens with light accelleration then there's a good chance it's your torque converter. This is one of the few weak points with MDX

SOURCE: Front End noise and vibration

Check the U-joints and axle baerings. But its most likely because the truck is in four wheel drive.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 grand

this sounds like a wheel bearing to me. to check for a worn wheel bearing jack the car up and with the tires off the ground. place your hands on the top and bottom of the tire and apply pressure back and forth to feel for play in the bearing. sometimes they are worn ever so slightly to feel the wear other times it's very noticable. if they seem to be tight they could be the ball joints as allready sugested, to check those jack one side up at a time then use a long bar under the tire to raise it up and down, if the ball joints bad you will see the play in the joint. ken!

SOURCE: Vibration when in gear, and stalling.

The problem is the torque converter solenoid. I had it happen on my 94 Cavalier a few years back and was a cheap fix at the local car mechanic. What happens is the transmission warms up and hits a certain speed where the solenoid engages, but then it sticks and won't disengage until it cools down sufficiently. When it sticks, it causes the car to shake when slowing down and will snub out the engine if you come to a stop.

You need to contact Acura dealer and provide your VIN# (if it's not in with your owners manual & entertainment instructions - usually a small credit card size card with code on it)

Very delayed ignition and weird start-up!

I do have a 04 TSX, but never came across the issue you report. However, I had an old car once that had a similar issue which I traced to a bad sparkplug which was replaced to fix the issue. Also, you could first try and check your batteries and maybe put a new one to see, if that resolves it. Hope it helps.
