How to reset the tire pressure low light on a chrysler 300

It is supposed to reset automatically when driving after you pump the tires back up above the minimum threshold pressure. However this does not always work.

What you need to do now to reset it is to pump all the tires up around 6 - 8 lbs psi above where they are now when COLD (up to 40 lbs psi COLD on each tire is fine). Then drive around for a few miles and the warning light should reset. Then when the tires are cold drop the pressure to around 36 psi cold or a higher pressure setting if you prefer. If you don't have your own tire pressure gauge then go to an auto store and buy one as good gauges are not expensive.. (Just avoid the cheap plastic ones).

The TPMS sensors fitted to the wheels can be erratic and whilst they are supposed to trigger when a low pressure is reached, the minimum pressure can vary significantly for the same model sensors fitted to different cars of the same brand/model/year.

Tyre pressure warning light showing when pressures are correct

Hi, the tire pressure monitor detects any changes in the tire inflation pressure. Therefore, it must initialize and store it in its memory if the tires or wheels have been replaced, re-inflated or the tires have been rotated. You can re-initialize the system by following these steps:

1. Check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (in the glove box) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. Now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. Initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

How do i fix low tire pressure warning light that will not go away on 1997 lincoln continental. Spare is a donut, so dont think it is involved, I fill tires, and drive 10 minutes and sensor triggers light...

When you "fill" the tires they must be within 3 lbs of each other or the tire pressure warning light will come on. If the tires are "filled" correctly and the tire pressure light still comes on, you may have a tire pressure sensor that has gone bad. You would then have to take your car in to the dealer or tire shop to determine which tire sensor is bad.
Good luck.

My 2008 highlander 4wd tire pressure warning light just went on. Checked tire pressure on all 4 mounted tires found to have 25-26 psi. Inflated it to 30 psi (recommended) and look for the reset button...

turn the key to the on position (not running)
let at least 6 lbs of air out of each tire
put at least 32 lbs of air back in each tire
turn ignition to off
start vehicle and the light and sensors should be reset

Warning light under the D on the dashboard

This symbol is the tire pressure indicator. If you are running the factory stock tires on the car then inflate your tires to between 36 and 44 lbs. 44 lbs is max pressure so you would be safe running around 38 or 40 lbs. Once you do this then turn your vehical off and restart it. It should reset the sensor and show enough tire pressure to turn the sensor off.

Changed right front tire now reads zero on dash light is on

Your tire pressure monitor needs to be reset whenever you change or rotate your tires...

1. check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (think the switch is in the glovebox, but not sure) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.
