Hi, if the sensor is on the floor under the seat it has come away from the connection point at the seat belt anchor, dash light will not cancel until the electrical circuit is complete, if you can not replace it an auto electrician will do it for you, as it could have come away from the mount when cable caught and pulled unintentionally. The sensors which fit below the passenger seat are missing. I want to know the name of these sensors.

seat belt sensor or air bag sensor, some cars measure weight in the seat on the passenger side and if it is below a certain amount it disables the passenger air bag, a safety for little kids, other sensor for seat belts, if there is any weight and no seat belt is fastened it will turn the seat belt warning light on in the dash.

The belt buckle sensor might be unplugged under the seat. Or the wiring or switch it self may be broken.

typical american i assume here ,sue everybody in sight ?? Well the fault is most likely caused by the connector block under the front seats ,make sure their is no rubbish under the front seats and then disconnect the connector and clean the contact pins with a soft B black lead pencil and then try that ,if that doesnt work then remove the seat and clean the pins in the connection on the pyrotechnic attachment at the bottom of the seat belt anchor .This is around 60% or so all the faults i get associated with airbag lights ,dirty connections under the seat or empty coke cans and water bottles pulling the plugs out

Even though I have put on my seat belt, every 5 minutes the light will come on and it will buzz for another 10 second, and than 5 minutes later it will repeat.

check for loose connections on seatbelt stem and under the seat - wires on floor but also under the seat itself. That sensor detects people sitting on seat.

SRS light

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

Usually when you have a traction control problem and the engine light on sounds more like a sensor issue. If you have just had the brakes replaced maybe they messed up the abs sensor which is in the wheel well area.....which could have the effect.
