Can I recharge car battery with my stanley dps109 digital power station

Power Station Manual does not give information for trickle charge. However, I'm sure I've read where some have used it to charge a 12V car battery.

Most auto parts stores will test your battery, alternator, and starter for free. It's a fairly simple check and doesn't take long.

Thanks, Marc. That's a great idea. Maybe I can find the problem, that way, before taking my car to a garage.

Charging voltage doesnt matter as much as charging current. what you need to know is that for a battery to charge properly it needs a feed of about 2.0amps over a period of 8-10hours (my recommendation) .
you need to establish whether your charger can provide a 12volt 2.0amp output.
take a look at this link, it very useful: Charging your car battery

I think you best study the battery chemistry. a 12 volt battery has more then 12V on the terminals. A normal charge voltage is 13.8V not 12V If it is over 1/2 dead 12V will help a little.

Testimonial: "Not too sure how dead my battery is. I've only given it jump starts with my stanley dps109 digital power station. However, it won't hold a charge now (by driving it) & battery is fairly new. I'm taking it a garage to find out what is draining the battery, but would like to charge the battery first."

When I changed my cigarette lighter in my 1997 Lincoln mark 8 my power locks and trunk stopped working and my information station has data error. How do I reset it.

If you didn't disconnect the battery before changing lighter you may have shorted something out.
Try disconnecting the battery for a while. some cars have capacitors that keep the computer memory so give it about an hour to be safe.

Boss 648UA loses programmed radio stations when I start car.

Nearly every auto stereo has a two power wires. One is switched on and off with the ignition so it will shut off automatically when leaving the car and a second that has power all the time. This second power wire is used to keep time on the clock and to maintain your chosen station memory presets.

If you have wired both power wires to the switched power source, the clock and station memories will be reset each time the car is shut off. You will need to identify the wire that the radio that needs to have powered constantly and connect it to an "always on" 12 volt source (such as the (+) post of the battery).

Additionally, a car battery that is failing can cause the same problem with station memories. Look for indicators such as hard starting or interior lights that dim significantly or go out nearly completely when cranking the engine. This is a visual indicator of an excessive amount of current the battery is trying to supply - often due to a low voltage on the battery. This can be a result of a poor connection at the battery itself, a cable between the battery, starter, fuse box, etc. or a dead cell in the battery. Have the battery checked and replace if needed.

Once your radio power wiring, battery & cable connections and battery health have been verified or corrected - the problem should go away.

Good luck!

Check guages light comes on after short drive while engine is running, and the car died while driving on I-95 the lights started flickering getting dimmer. the radio would turn off when anything else...

It sounds like the Alternator is actually bad.
One great way to determine this:
Recharge the new battery with a trickle charge overnight. Make sure use remove the wires going to the Battery before recharging.
Replace the Battery Wires.
Get the Vehicle Started.
When it has Started: Leave it Running and Disconnect and Remove the Negative side of the Battery. If the Vehicle dies, it is the Alternator that is bad, and needs to be replaced..
The Battery starts that vehicle, and provides nominal power to certain accessories. The Alternator actual Runs the Engine and Recharges the Battery with a low trickled charge.

2003 Lexus ES300 How does one save Radio Statio presets? Going to the station and holding the button to save does not work.

Holding the button is supposed to work. This from owner's manual: PRESETTING A STATION:
  1. Tune in the desired station.
  2. Push one of the station selector buttons (1-6) and hold it until a beep is heard. This sets the station to the button and the button number (1-6) appears on the display.
Each button can store one AM station and two FM stations. To change the preset station to a different one, follow the same procedure. The preset station memory is cancelled when the power source is interrupted by battery disconnection or a blown fuse.
