I have found bolt on kits for a 350 that run at about $1100 though, the engine bolts right in and it fits like a glove. ive heard of many other people doing this as well. maybe a lil research would help you give a legit answer

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE BUT THIS IS A MID ENGINE CAR WITH THE ENGINE MOUNTED TRANSVERSLY. UNLESS YOU PLAN ON SPENDING A TON OF CASH , SEVERAL MONTHS FRABRACATING ON NEW FRAME TO SIT THE BODY ON AND THE BIGGEST PROJECT YOU HAVE EVER TAKEN ON I WOULD NOT SUGGEST IT

GOOD LICK WITH THAT .YOU ARE STILL GOING TO SPEND A TON OF MONEY AND TIME, BUT IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RESEARCHED THE PROJECT WHY ARE YOU ASKING ?

People have put larger in Fieros. Cadillac Northstar 4.9 is popular. Supercharged 3.8 is well supported. See Pennock's Fiero Forum. Timing is not difficult, but sometimes the harmonic balancer slips, that might have to be fixed first. You have to short two terminals in connector under center armrest before adjusting timing, otherwise the computer controls timing.

I replaced my 1985 350 5.7 1500 with a 1995 350 gmc 1500 5.7 now how do i convert the 1995 distributyor cap to work on the 85 gmc pickup.

a distributor cap is just a cap
the pickup is in the distributor
can you not simply swap distributors

What kind of gear oil do i put in the transfer case in my 1989 350 big bear?

in 89 it took dextron 2 for auotomatic trans and 85-90 w gear oil for manual trans.......if you want your older manual transmissions to shift better go to a synthetic and alot of times the syncros will work better.

I have a 88 chevy 4x4 with sb 350 tbi. i want to swap 350 block with a 400 block ( keep the 350 heads and tbi system just swap the block). i know i must bore the steam holes but thats all i know i must do....

a full decking of heads, as well as refurbishing at a head shop is most likely necessary, new head bolts, head gaskets, as well as checking the valve/piston clearance.make sure the coolant holes are properly cleaned out, and this could be a good time to port and polish the heads

Hi i did a 350 swap in my 93 s10 and now it wont shift into overdrive and it takes off in 3rd gear u can manuale shift it but it wont shift by its self or into over drive at all need help thanks robbie

Try adjusting the transmission rod on the side of the transmission put it in park then put on the e-brake and move the shifter rod all the way forward to park position then it should work. if not you may have bent the shifting linkage when installing the transmission.

We had a 350 in the truck and swiched it to a 400 small block carberter and it shifts really hard and has no over drive.

sounds like the throttle valve cable is disconnected/misadjusted. If you swapped from fuel injection to carbureator you might have to get a cable from a carb. equipped vehicle in order to make it work. You will also need the brackets that work with the carb, the adjustment of the cable is critical for proper shifting as it has no modulator.

I have a 85 chevy elcamino. It has a 305 engine in it that needs to be replaced, along with the transmission. I have a friend that will give me a early to mid 90s chevy caprice with a 350. Do you think that...

Providing that the valve covers are the same, the engine should fit. It would be easiest if both transmissions were identical but you can use a 350, 400 or even a 700r4 in there with some mods and a crossmember move and possibly a driveshaft mod. You will probably want to swap intake manifolds and all brackets for stuff up front as well.

I swapped mine out and put in a 350 with a turbo 350. The rear end is not posi but if that's not a problem the drive shaft will work but you'll have to get a new trans mount. you can get one from Summit or jegs. Also the motor mounts will have to be moverd to the furthest front position. Best to put the mounts in then try the engine for fit before you bolt in the trans. You'll also have to rerun the fuel line to the other side. There are some other minor mods but you do them as you go along.
