Did you check the fuses under hood and under driver side dash. The only other thing I can think of is with an electric tester check to see if there's power to motor. I hope for your sake it's just fuse.

Sounds like the sensor is not reading the coolant temp, or the computer is not accepting the data from the sensor.
Its possible you have air in the cooling system, or you have a problem with the computer.

Hi there:
DTC P0481 - Cooling Fan 2 Ctrl CKT Malfunction
The P0481 requires reprogramming the PCM at a Mazda dealership, see below TSB in THIS LINK:

Some vehicles may exhibit DTC P0481 (Cooling fan relays malfunction) stored in the PCM.

The false DTC detection occurs when the A/C refrigerant pressure switch is ON but the cooling fan relay is turned OFF by the PCM because the coolant temperature is 108C degrees and under. The PCM stores DTC P0481 because the cooling fan is operating without PCM control command. This is due to improper PCM calibration.

Were is the temperature sensor location on a jeep grand cherokee yr. 2004 with a 4-0 engine inline 6 this sensor runs the cooling fan on the radiator

The coolant sensor is in the front the thermostat housing that the top radiator hose goes to has the sensor in it, but if your wandering cause your cooling fans do not work it's most likely not the sensor. The largest proble I have seen with them is the cooling fan relay, the part is roughly $60-80.00, but that's the easy part, a shop will charge you out your rear to do it cause technically you should remove the complete whole front facia and bumper assy to do it, but there is a trick, if you plan on fixing this yourself let me know I'll clue u in on a little bit easier way.. Oh generally when the relay goes bad you will also have a check engine light on as well!! Usually cooling fan relay control circuit!

My cooling fan has no power even when wired directly to ignition.

you can test ur fan with running" leads" or wires. a + and- from fuse box straight to fan wires, putting a on and off switch in between. its to check is fried or not. switch in line really not needed but it works

Coolant fan circuit malfunction / fan 1 or fan 2 or a sensor?

DTC P0480 - Cooling Fan Relay 1 Control Circuit
DTC P0481 - Cooling Fan Relay 2 Control Circuit.

You have a bad wire between the PCM and the relays, or a power supply issue to them. Test descriptions on TSB its available.

Mini Cooper 2002 overheated, fan fuse keeps blowing

The most common cause for the cooling fan fuse to blow is a bad cooling fan motor. The failng motor will draw an excessive amount of current which actually heats up the fuse and melts it. Now if your fuse is blowing the instant the cooling fan(s) turn on, then that could be a "dead short". either inside the cooling fan motor or in the wiring going to it. Follow and inspect the wiring leading to the cooling fan motor. Check for any broken, cracked or burnt wires. If you don't see any of that, then you'll probably need a new motor. If you think you can tackle the job, most auto parts stores sell generic replacement cooling fan motors much less than you would pay at the dealership.
WARNING! - some cooling fan motors are easy to get to, and others are very difficult. Study yours carefully and then decide if you want to tackle the job before you start tearing it apart.

How do i stop my car from overheating?

it can be several reasons for your overheating we`ll start with the basics as you don`t say what you have tried could be the thermostat stuck shut which will require replacement,it could be that your cooling system is low very low on coolant and that there is a leak in the system,either the radiator,water pump, frost plug,or a head gasket is bad and causing the overheating,the cooling system will need to pressure tested and checked for leaks and damaged components replaced and the thermostat should be changed at the same time,it can also be a bad temperature sensor, also the cooling fan or fans may not be working either by a bad connection or a bad cooling fan motor,this can be checked by hooking up a tool that communicates with the on board computer and the cooling fans can be commanded to operate,if they don`t then while they are commanded you can tap on the cooling fans to see if they will start to work or if they are seized or you can hook up two jumper wires one ground and one positive and directly feed the motor from the battery to see if it will start working.and you thought fixing cars were easy,lol

Cooling fan makes little noise now and then on my xj6.

mcdevito75, This could be some wear in the bearings of the cooling fan, keep an eye out for the noise getting worse, if so replace the fan with a new one. These cooling fans are sealed units so when the niose gets to be too much you"ll have to replace with brand new.
