Will be the reverse gear is selected the reversing light comes on

so the switch will be associated with reverse gear select
you can test at the switch too see if it sends
then at the light socket to see if you get the juce
if not its in the middle
use a multmeter and ground to body the black neg leed
test with the red
and avoid shorting it
a good tip is to cover too the tip of the probe with tape then its a small area of contact less easy to short out and damage the cars lomb wires etc fuses...

Tail lights do not work on a 2000 lexus rx 300 bulbs are fine, all other lights work fine

You may have a fried fuse. Look in your owners manual to find out which fuse it is in the fuse box diagram. If that is the problem make sure to use the same amperage fuse to replace the burned one with. I fried fuse is usually a sign that you have a short somewhere. But they can also fry for other reasons such as excess moisture somewhere. Sometimes they just burn from age and fatigue. It may solve it to just replace the fuse, but if there really is a short, the new fuse will fry too.

My turn flasher stopped working afta having my 96 accord just over 9 years, I've bought a new one , but doesn't fit....I don't know what I have to get for it to fit properly!!! =c plz help! I'm a female...

What exactly did you buy a new one of...the light bulb? The light bulb is presumably the first thing to check when the flasher stops working. So drive yourself to a Hinda service place, take the flasher light bulb out, walk into the parts dept with the bulb and tell them you need a new one (and show them)...that way you know you get the correct on. When you get the new one, make sure it matches the one you removed. Go back to car, and replace the old one with the new on. If you take the bulb out and check it and it appears that it isn't blown, then check to see if your car has a fuse that is specifically for the blinker on the side that isn't working. (your manual should have a diagram of your fuse box...what fuse is where and what the fuse operates, as should the inside of your fuse box cover).

I have a 1989 Buick Park avenue. A month ago all of the back lights stopped working. Tail lights, brake lights, reverse lights.

Check your fuses underneath the drivers side steering wheel. Flip the plastic cover over and there will be a diagram showing the fuse that controls the taillights/stoplamp. Pull the fuse out and replace it with the same number fuse and your taillights and brake lights will work again. If the fuses are ok, pull each taillight bulb out and replace it with a new bulb. Sometimes when one light bulb fails, all of them will fail.

Dashboard light problemsradio knob light does not come on as well as the heater control lights. they use to all work but stopped all of a sudden.

Check your fuse box, Should be under your dash, right above where your clutch would be. Read the back of the panel, it will tell you which fuse goes where. check that fuse, or replace it. I cheat and put a higher amp fuse in all my fuse spots.

Right read stop light (only) stopped working. Bulb

You need to check for power in the socket,if no power go back the harness a ways and recheck. If you have power prior to the socket then you may need a new socket. Also check and see if the socket is grounded.

Turning Lights Not Working

If you put a 2 element bulb in a single bulb elemet socket you would or could destroy the flasher unit. Especially if it is a electronic flasher try replaceing the flasher but get mechanicl flasher they last longer.

2004 Landrover Freelander stop/reverse light fuse keeps blowing

I had a persistent problem of hill light warning and TCS warning lights coming on for no apparent reason. There is a wire connection between the stop light switch and the control unit to let the system know when brakes are being applied. Changing the stop light switch cured it. The replaced switch was certainly sticking and the new one was of a different design. Replaced it myself as switch comes with a wiring loom. Need to get on your back under the steering wheel! Not very expensive. My car 2001 TD4

Left rear brake light stopped working but bulb and fuses are OK.

These are Dual Function Bulbs. They control the Parking Lights and the Brake Lights. This Bulb is Burnt out on the Brake Coil inside the Bulb. I have actually seen Bulbs that were Bad But you could not Tell by jast looking at them. It should be fine with a New Bulb. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Nissan Quest 2004 Tail Lights

Robynumber1,

Thanks for the email back. The nissan quest tail lights werenot operating, but the break lights were working. This was ultimately caused by a blown fuse. The fuse was blown by loose trailer lighting wires dragging on the ground, thus shorting. Problem fixed.
