Check all the dome lights or the light in the trunk. One of them is on all the time. Or something else is on or shorted. Take out one fuse each night, to see what circuit is running something. You might have a bad alternator.

In park, cannot turn ignition to off position. have experienced before when battery was weak, but now have new battery that cranks right over.

push on the shifter. There is a micro switch in the shifter that goes. Pushing the shifter into park and holding it helps. If that the problem you should replace the shifter but that's a lot of money. I jump the switch this mean that you can leave the car in gear and remove the key so be careful

Car wont start when i turn the key

The first thing you need to check is whether the key has a pellet in it or "chip". If it does...the problem is most likely your key lock cylinder. Go buy a new key lock cylinder....KEEP YOUR OLD KEY. Take your new lock cylinder down to any Chevrolet dealer to find out what the VATS number is for your key....then have the dealer cut you a new key with that same VATS number...then go to your vehicle and remove the negative battery cable...this does two things...1. It resets the computer after a five minute period of no power...2.. allows you to work on the steering column without power on it.

Remove the steering wheel with the aid of repair manual.

Put the new key lock cylinder with the wire running down the steering column. Then put the steering column back together....Hook up the negative battery cable, then use your new key that was CUT and your car should start
