Firing order for 87 s10 Blazer 2.8 Spectra distributor

The firing order is driver side is 1,3,5 / passenger side firing order is 2,4,6 on the distributor cap after you have installed the rotor and the new cap the order is like a clock 1 goes at the bottom to the left if your in front of the engine it goes 1,2,3,4,5,6 and the lone wire goes in the middle just make sure you follow your wires to the right plug to make sure the firing order is correct or it won't fire.

I am having trouble fiquiring out which wire goes to which plug. The wires are different lengths and the correct wire length has to go specifically with the correct plug. I have the firing order dia

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6
Cyl #1 is front left when looking at engine front to back
left coil pack connects to cyls. 5-2
center coil pack connects to cyls. 3-6
right coil pack connects to cyls. 4-1
It doesn't matter which connector on the coil you use just that the cylinder is connected to the proper coil pack (the coil fires both plugs at the same time, twice per each full 4 stroke cycle)

Switch wire that goes to the starter on a 79 Chevy Truck what color is it

in 1991 chevy used 3 differant trasmission's a 4L60-E, 4L80-E and a 700R4 in 1993 they used 2 differant transmissions a 4L60-E and a 4L80-E if your truck has the 700R4 then the 93 transmissions will not work if you ned to find out what you have in your truck and what is in the other truck. if they are the same they will swap the only diffance in the ext. cab and reg cab is the drive shaft. but the transmission have to be the same modles a 4L60-E will not replace a 4L80-E and nothing will replace the 700R4...

I have an 1993 short wide that i ordered a tranny from B&M, a 700r4. They tranny wires from my truck have a round plug , and the new 700r4 has a square plug. Is there an adaptor for this

your first problem is that you ordered the wrong transmission. in the late 80's chevy switched from the 700r4 to the 4L60E. all the electronics for the 4L60E was changed. the only way you can run the 700R4 is if you put a completely different ECU (computer) in the truck. I recomend you see if you can trade the transmission in for the correct one or you will be going through alot of headaches trying to get another computer and complete wiring harness for the truck.

a 700R4 is the same as a 4L60. if you have a large round plug on the passenger side of trans , thats a 4l60e and will not interchange (it's computer controlled)

Back firing, seems like lack of fuel, need to know where both filters are

Back firing is caused by improper firing order or bad timing belt or chain.Verify spark plug wires are on in correct order. If no one has been changing wires, check that when harmonic balancer is lined up at top dead center that rotor in distributor is lined up to tower that goes to plug wire that goes to number one cylinder. First plug in front on passenger side. If it is off your chain or belt depending on motor needs to be changed.

Tranny for a 454

I don't know how hard it would be to wire in a 4l60 but a 700R4 would slide right in. It uses an vacuum electric switch that is mounted on the fire wall above the blower fan. Go to a junk yard and grab one with the wire harness and you should be in business. The 700R4 is the right age too. They should be fairly cheap to pick up.

The plug that connects to the alternator has three

Yes the White wire is the reason. It goes to the Internal Regulator.
As you view the connector that plugs into your alternator, look at where the lock tab is.
Lock tab on TOP. The Black wire goes to the Left side. The White wire goes to the Right side.

The Black wire, ties into the Red wire down in the wire loom. (The Red wire goes to the starter solenoid, and this is connected straight to the battery. This is why the Red, AND the Black wire, are both Hot wires)

The White wire goes through the bulkhead wire loom, and to the bulkhead connector.

(Down under the steering shaft, and on the firewall, you'll see a rectangular Black box shape, with a Bunch of wires, coming into it from the engine compartment. The bulkhead connector is two pieces. Following it through the firewall, the other side of it is the fuse panel)

Where the White wire connects in the fuse panel,
it should go straight to the ACC fuse. (Accessory)
