Clock and trip meter in my 2006 jetta TDI resets every time I turn the car. Is there a solution without taking to shop?

Check your fuses. Electronic devices with memory require some power to allow them to hold the memory. The power needs to be there even when the car is turned off otherwise you will experience exactly what's happening to you.
