A leaking head gasket. Check the coolant level and if low,, you may need to use some sealer like Blue Devil.

When you say "bad smell in the air" can you describe it? A rotten smell odor is usually associated with a bad catalytic converter.

Has it been losing power, slowing going up hills, or anything noticeable?

It may be a bad or clogged catalytic converter. Check the oil level in the vehicle. Overfilling can have adverse effects on the catalytic converter and cause premature failure..

The sulfuric odor may be too much fuel, a rich condition caused by too much fuel pressure, bad regulator or no vacuum to the regulator . Bad O2 sensor , linked return line , stuck open injector pintles etc. .

Can a bad catalytic converter cause the ignition coils to go bad

A bad catalytic converter can cause your vehicle to run rough and even seem to stall and hesitate around 40 to 50 miles per hour, this will feel like a ignition problem, the simplest way I found to check a cat is with a cheap infrared or temperature probe, check Amazon or Ebay, they are inexpensive enough, you don't need great accuracy , nothing expensive. The tempeture of the cat after the engine is hot will be approximately 30-40 degrees hotter on the output of the catalytic converter than the input, also the exhaust will have an odor of rotten eggs.

Why does it stallout, smell gas in cab, sputter while trying to accellorate

if you can smell the odor of rotten eggs, the catalitic converter is plugged causing excessive back pressure. remove converter and check drivability.

1994 saturn sl 2 oxygen sensor light came on replaced it. now the code is saying the upstream oxygen sensor input volage above normal operating range???? and theres a bad odor coming from car???

It could be the oxygen sensors but when you said there is a bad odor I would bet that you have a bad EGR valve. It will send a code for the oxygen sensor if there is problems with the EGR valve. A lot of the time the smell is like rotten eggs when you have a bad EGR.

Spells like rotten egg and shakes

Sounds like your engine is running rich (too much fuel ). The rotten egg odor is caused by the catalytic convertor. NOW, the big question is WHY ? Is your car overdue for a tune up ? Do you have a faulty injector ? Needs to be diagnosed
