The plastic door handle is broken.
You will need to get a replacement door handle.

This should help. It is a set of photographs and instructions to do the job of replacing the handle.

Remove the four screws along the bottom edge, the one up by the mirror, and the large screw inside the armrest cup/handle. Gently pry the edges to release the plastic clips, then pull out and lift up to release it from the window edge.

This link is from the handle to the latch. The door panel has to be removed in order for this problem to be fixed. The linkage is inside the door panel, it is a small diamater metal rod called a link. If you do the job yourself be careful not to break the door panel. In a shop, the labor is 1 hour for the job & if any, parts will be a seperate charge.
