Question about 2000 Saturn SL2
I have a 2000 Saturn sl2 and The right front motor mount was broke right down the middle and I replaced with oem part and it seemed to help quit a bit but still shifting hard what is wrong you think .........it really slams into reverse and drive not so much but first is ok then second gear is hard and 3 is hard and also fourth what you think is the problem youthink it may be another support some were or what and thank you for your time and God Bless
There are 4 motor mounts on the engine. You found the top mount. The bottom mount on that side is a dog bone and is right under the crankshaft pulley. The bottom mount is on the other side in about the same place. The drivers side top mount is another dog bone and is under the battery box. For best results, change all four of them at once, and make sure to buy a GM original mount for the top one. The knockoff mounts just aren't as smooth and durable as the real thing. Believe me on this one, the huge difference is well worth the few extra bucks.

Your valve body and possibly input shaft nut need to be replaced. The valve body's booster valve is worn down and won't create pressure. Before it went completely out it slammed on the input shaft nut and loosened it.
You need to replace the valve body and retorque the input shaft nut. The transmission is not junk. The above needs to be replaced and change the filter and fluid and do it every 20K miles.

I am worried about the mechanical components of the transmission particularly the torque converter found inside it. The solenoid found in the transmission could also be at fault.
It would be best to check first the simplest fix which may also cause this like the transmission fluid and the filter. Low fluid levels or dirty fluids may cause this issue. If you do change the fluid, include the filter.
If you notice that you are running at a speed different from what the speedometer is saying, it may be the speed sensor in the transmission.
Some shops would let you borrow their scanner for the car's diagnostics, see if you can borrow and check if you do get errors. If there are errors saved in the computer, it would help us diagnose the issue.
