Question about 1996 Honda Civic
The speedometer dosen't work. I already replaced the speed sensor.
When you say the speedometer does not work, do you mean the needle is stuck at certain speed or is at zero all the time.. If it is at zero all the time, replace your meter. If it's stuck at certain speed, give it a knock with your fingers. And if that do not work, drill a pin hole with a fine drill just above the position where the needle is stuck and using a fine thin wire, push the needle back to zero position.

iv done a b16a swap in my ef civic and its got a jdm 112mph speed limiter, i tried disconecting the vehicle speed sensor (vss) wire to stop it cutting in but my car just went on to limp mode.... maybe try finding the wiring for the engine and ecu on the net and find the vss, then just follow the wire through the car checking the conections

SOURCE: Speedometer works sporadically
It sounds as if liquid got into the instrument cluster and the speedometer gauge might have some rust on the spring. Check to see if any other gauge is sticking sometimes.

if speedometer and odometer are not working, chances are that the speed sensor is bad and stopped working. find vehicle speed sensor on transmission, the connection may be corroded or the sensor itself is bad. good-day !!
