What are you trying to check. If your ignition switch doesn't work you will have to have it replaced and new computerized keys cut because the chip in the new key will be different.

  • The headlamps are on continuously
  • Headlamp switch.
  • Circuitry.

  • RAP module (if equipped).

  • GO to Pinpoint Test F .

F1 CHECK THE HIGH BEAM CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER
Pull CJB Fuse 16 (20A) - central junction box ,inside the vehicle ! Ignition on !
  • Do the headlamps continue to illuminate?
  • Yes GO to F2 .
    No - REINSTALL the fuse.GO to F12 .
  • F2 CHECK CIRCUIT 12 (LG/BK), 160 (DB/WH), AND 161 (DG/OG) FOR SHORT TO POWER
  • pull fuse's CJB Fuse 21 (10A) , CJB Fuse 22 (10A)
  • Do the headlamps continue to illuminate?
  • Yes - REPAIR circuit 12 (LG/BK), 161 (DG/OG), or 160 (DB/WH) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.

Why are brake lights not working?


Check the brake switch (although I don't know exactly where yours is located....start near the pedal). When you find it make sure the pedal actually operates the switch and it hasn't come away from any fixing point and try to manually operate the switch and check your lights. Some switches operate by being pressed by the pedal operation and others by a spring that pulls the switch. If still no lights then short out the wires and see if the brake lights work then. If they do then the switch is faulty. If not then it is a wiring issue.

How to fix a window driver's side on a Nissan quest 2004....


First, you must establish what the issue is:
  1. Check for supply voltage to the actuator switch. If there is voltage TO the switch, activate the switch, and test for voltage on the switch output. If there is no voltage to to the switch, trace the issue back to the fuse panel. If there is voltage at the switch input AND voltage at the output of the switch, continue...
  2. Is the vehicle equipped with an "express" automatic window mode? If so, check to be sure the microswitch on the regulator is functioning. Also, verify that the automatic module (located in the armrest) is operating. Continue...
  3. When the actuator switch is operated, check for voltage at the motor. If there is voltage at the motor, make sure that the regulator mechanism is not jammed. (Has it been lubricated in the past 10 years?) Continue...
  4. If the actuator is operating and the regulator mechanism is operating correctly but the power window still does not work, replace the window motor.

I have a 96 plymouth grand voyager and it is stuck on park what does tha mean


Its possible that you have some problem with the TRS (Transaxle Range Sensor), also called Inertia Switch.

Additionally, check the Brake Light Switch, as it will malfunction,and not let the shift interlock safety feature operate, You can sometimes check to see if your brake lights are operating, if they don't work or if they are on constantly, the switch is the culprit.

Verify that the switch operating lever fingers are centered in the switch opening in the case when in P and N .
Install a new seal and screw the switch on the case. Tighten to 24 ft. lbs. (33 Nm). Be sure the new seal has seated properly between the switch and the transaxle housing or a fluid leak could result.
Check the continuity of the switch, at the 2 outer terminal pins, for proper operation. Reconnect the electrical connector.
Lower the vehicle and check the transmission fluid level. Add if necessary.
Reconnect the negative battery cable and check the switch for proper operation.

Brake lights wont go off


If the stoplamps are on continuously, the following may be at fault:
  1. Circuitry.
  2. Brake pedal position (BPP) switch.
  3. Multifunction switch (Crown Victoria equipped with the police street appearance package or Grand Marquis)
CHECK THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION (BPP) SWITCH
Disconnect: BPP Switch. Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? If yes, continue to the next step. If no install a new BPP Switch.

CHECK CIRCUIT 511 (LG) FOR SHORT TO POWER
Disconnect: Central Junction Box (CJB) Fuse 14 (20A). Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? If yes, and your Crown Victoria is equipped with the police street appearance package or Grand Marquis, continue to the next step. If Crown Victoria, REPAIR circuit 569 (DG). TEST the system for normal operation. If no, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

CHECK CIRCUIT 9 (LG/OG) FOR SHORT TO POWER
Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202c. Does the LH stoplamp continue to illuminate? If yes, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. If no, go to next step.

CHECK CIRCUIT 5 (OG/LB) FOR SHORT TO POWER
Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202c. Does the RH stoplamp continue to illuminate? If yes, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. If the high mounted stoplamp continues to illuminate, REPAIR circuit 569 (DG). TEST the system for normal operation. If the high mounted stoplamp does not continue to illuminate, INSTALL a new multifunction switch. TEST the system for normal operation.

My power windows stopped working


The power window system operates electric motors, mounted in the doors, which lower and raise the windows. The system consist of the conrol switches, the motors, regulators, glas mechanism and associated wirring.
Perform checks
1. Check fuses for proper operations, blown fuse can cause windows to stop operating.
2.Check with voltage meter your power windo switches.
3.Each motor is equiped with an internal circuit breaker, this prevents one stuck window from disabling the whole system.
4.The power windows will only operate when ignition key is ON. In addition, manu models have a window lock out switch at the master control switch which, when activated, disables the switches at the passenger's windows. Always check these items before troubleshooting a window problem
5. These procedures are general in nature, so if you can;t find the problem using them, take vehicle to the dealer service department or other properly equipped repair facility.
6. If windows wont operate always check the fuses and circuit breaker first.

Brake and gas pedals


The vehicle has a optional adjustable brake to increase driver comfort. The brake pedal position is changed in phase with the accelerator pedal. The system is adjusted by pressing the dash-mounted switch that powers the driver motor mounted on the accelerator pedal assembly. The two-way motor operates backward (away from the driver) or forward (toward the driver) to adjust the accelerator pedal directly and the brake pedal through the drive cable attached to the brake pedal assembly.

Window one operate but can operate passenger side from driver


Ford was notorious for bad switches on the drivers window control panel. But before you replace it pull the whole inner door panel off. You will have to unplug the switch panel to do it... check the connections on the window motor itself, then check and clean the connector that plugs into the inner door panel and the switch panel itself, If these dont fix it check an auto boneyard for a replacement switch... AAlso if you are savy with automotive electrical, CAREFULLYcheck the motor operation with a jumper wire replacing the switch to ensure it isnt a bad motor... most likely it is the switch but Murphy's law has a whole subset of rules for automotive electrical applications...

  • Using a voltmeter, check for voltage to Circuit 1035 (O/R) from headlamp switch.
  • Is voltage present on both circuits?
