Engine runs 15 or so will shut off and starts when cool. Replaced fuelfilter and fuel pump relay. still does the same thing.

I want to know what can be the problem for my engine shutting off and starting after it has cooled. I have replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump relay, what else could it be?

If you don't have any check engine warning light on your dashboard relating to EGR system means it has to be the FUEL PUMP according to you fuel pump relay and fuel filter was replaced but the most common cause by that is fuel pump...to verify have you try to install Fuel Pressure Tester to a fuel line it might not be the specified psi while observing the tester a several minutes tester shows it dropping down the pressure till it shut off by itself.

I have a 2007 Silverado with a new fuel pump and fuel pump control module. It runs about 10-15 minutes and shuts off and won't start again for a few hours. What can be wrong?

may not be fuel related as first thought

it has a fuel relay ....was that replaced

I would be looking at other fault codes if possible

something electronic failing when got hot @15 minuets
and needs a long time too cool down

could be crank angle sensor

2000 chevy milabu.starts great, but it runs 15 minutes or so and will shut down then it starts when it has cooled.i replaced the fuel filter ,fuel pump relay.and engine still does the same

You need to look in to the Crankshaft Position Sensor. This is a common symptom of a degrading CKP sensor, and it is also an easy cheap fix.

Engine shuts down

The only way to know for sure is to hook a gauge to the rail and check the fuel pressure when it won't start.
Sitting for a few minutes and restarting is normally a sign of a relay or coil cooling off.
There should be a EEC relay that powers the dist module and ECM.
I know you said you have spark, but it could be something else
related.
Also, if you have spark at the right time and no fuel pressure, you should be able to use starting fluid to substitute.
I don't suppose you have dual tanks and the switching valve is the problem ?

Need to know why a 97 mercury cougar won't start until cooling fan and fuel pump stop running

I would think it's a problem with (CCRM) constant control relay module . This module has relay's inside that control the fuel pump , cooling fans , A/C compressor clutch , PCM - engine computer power relay . And thier are electronics involved , solid state circuity . Google CCRM

My fuel pump on my 99 cougar v6 only runs for a half second then shuts off I've replaced the filter , the pressure regulator valve , the pump and it still does the same thing . could I have a ecm prob

Generally, the computer only runs the pump long enough to start the engine and build oil pressure. After that, the oil pressure switch keeps the pump on, most of the time by supplying a ground to the fuel pump relay. This is a built in safety thing, when the engine isn't running, the fuel pump shuts off. Most public libraries have Chilton's manuals, or you could pick up a Hayne's manual at a store like Autozone. These books can help you locate the relay and oil pressure switch, as well as provide wire colors for your specific vehicle.

1991 cavalier 3.1 driving and car stops running. fuel pump & filtre ,cranksfaft sensor all replace. Like it's shut off while driving. Relay clicks on and off when key is turned on. Can the oil...

On some of these models, the oil sensor is wired to the fuel pump as a fail safe to prevent severe engine damage if oil pressure drops. Also it may be a good idea to replace your fuel pump relay. New fuel pumps require the full supplied voltage to perform, and old relays will sometimes overheat and shut off while trying to keep up, and sometimes allow you to start back up and drive after they cool (like 15-30mins later).

Passat b5 tdi fuel delivery problem I have a problem with my 98 Passat tdi 81kw AFN motor. Car won't start, no current on fuse 28-fuel pump. When i connetc 12 volt to the fuse, i can hear the pump running...

How long are you cranking for,if you have allowed to run out of fuel, it needs to be primed, try pouring diesel into the fuelfilter, but I used tohave the 110bhp AFN passat and it would start after cranking for a while and then cut out, then start but possibly cut out again, then start and give it some throttle, should be fine after that.

1988 mustang 5.0 efi flooding engine will not start fuel pump constantly running, fuel reg. replaced will actually fill and with fuel and only fire if pedal is to the floor?

Step one
Click the key forward BUT don't start the car listen for fuel pump to pressurize and shut off. But if the pump keeps running change the fuel pump relay switch under drivers seat. If its pressurizing and shuts off then its not your fuel pump. Fuel pressure at rail when idling is 30 psi.
Let me know what happens cause I know alot about Stangs had 2 5.0

Losing power to the fuel pump

well that sounds like a relay. if your car is an automatic, double check than you replaced the ASD and fuel pump relays and not the trans control relay.
if its not the relay, its probably the ECU(PCM).
