HOOKING UP A BATTERY BACKWARDS CAN CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE. THE SMELL IS MOST LIKELY ONE OF THE CONTROL BOARDS THAT SHORTED. BURNED CIRCUIT BOARDS REQUIRE REPLACEMENT

2005 Nissan Murano won't start. No lights, no sound, nothing. Remote key also wouldn't unlock the car. Had to use another key that just unlocks the car. Please advise if you can. Thanks

So there is no power at all to the car? Check the battery and clamps on the battery. Clean them if you have to. Make sure battery is charged.

Battery and brake lights are on

Could be a problem with the alternator or the hydraulic brake system.
You would need to check the brake fluid and see if the battery is being charged by the alternator.

Purchased a 2009 Murano S. When the car is not

In that case, whenever u take it for a ride and return to your nest, lift the hood and disconnect the battery terminal which I would recommend having a clip(spring loaded clamps with metal jaws) removed from the battery. Next time you use it, first reattach the clamps to the batter, and start normally.......sodeep

2003 SL Nissan Murano 150,000 miles. After driving

most likely it is the transfer case leaking. known problem on the AWD models. they leak right down on the exhaust and causes the burning smell. have it checked out again.
