My 1998 dodge stratus wont start when i turn the key and their is a burnt wire smell and the wire is from the starter to a cilinode ? I think not sure do i have to replace the wire or the hole starter

Replace the starter. Starter is bound up and is drawing a lot of amps thus causing the burnt wire smell and wire to be hot.
This is a good video to help you diagnose the starter.

How do I get rid of the raw gas odors from my trunk?

Not sure what make/model. Not sure what year. So....if you replaced all the hoses, did you also replace the cap? Do you fill your car and when it shuts off do you continue filling it till it is nearly overflowing? If you overfill the newer cars, the gas collects in the charcoal canister and will emit fumes until it evaporates, causing the possible smell. Not all cars do this, but many do, especially Jeeps and many GM's.

Turn signal switch is common issue, the plactic melts when the contacts overheat. look for discolored or malformed plastic, near wires and contacts.

Well in order for it to be broken, I think you would have noticed while driving it, a breaking loud bang and it would have left you stranded at that very point. But from what it sounds like to me by your description is that you were just driving it and then it just disappeared. Now if during that 1/4 mile you noticed it was slipping or smelling like burnt wiring before it stopped working, it cuold be that it burnt up inside.(clutches and bands etc.) What I suggest you do is pull the dipstick and smell the fluid on the tip. If it smells like burnt wiring...BINGO...Its burnt. If it doesnt smell burnt, what is the fluid level? When was the last time you've had a tranny tune up? If you haven't had your tranny serviced at the specified intervals by the makers, your transmission could have went out due to lack of fluid circulation caused by a clogged filter. Now, a clogged filter can also cause your converter to go out too. Does your engine seem to run at a higher RPM along with an unpleasant vibration? start with smelling your fluid.

Steering wheel vibration at speeds above 50mph

this could be a few things. if the odor was of rotton eggs...it's either a broken/loose motor mount that shakes the exhaust system causing the catalyitic converter to make that smell, or, in a worse case, its your transmission overheating and burning up ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and this is causing the torque converter plates to rotate out of harmony with each other causing the vibration. if the smell is more a burnt rubber, it's much more likely you have a timing issue or a worn main bearing on your crankshaft. this causes vibration and wear on the belts causing them to "burn" or emit that burnout smell. either way, take it to your mechanic right away because none of these problems will end well if left unattended. good luck!

What is the number pattern on the distributor cap for my 1994 suburban 350 5.7

18436572 direction of rotation is the same as the direction the rotor turns. #1 on cap can be found by turning the engine by hand 'till the timing mark on harmonic balancer is at "0" on the timing scale it should point somewhat towards the front of the engine...if it points to the firewall, turn one more time. Plug numbers are 1357 front to back, drivers side, 2468 f to b. passenger side. Most often crossed wires are 5 & 7. Also good to keep those two as far from each other as possible as they also are the most likely to "induction fire" and cause engine miss.

No heat after burnt smell

Either your Fan motor is faulty or the fan control resister assembly is burnt out, either of those will cause the smell.

Get the cores cleaned and be sure that the drain is clear and flowing.

One thing to do is turn off AC and still blow air through it, on high, for 2 or 3 minutes at shutdown. What you are trying to do is dry the evaporator of condensation. MUCH less smell on next power on of AC.

Check serpentine belt, the radidator hose , the air conditioner compressor and also the differential seal they common cause for rubber smell.

Check for any rubber part that can be in contact with exhaust system and inspect wirings looking for shorts.

Also ensure that the smell is not coming from a bad tyre, and check for oil leaks in your engine, burnt oil can be confused with rubbere smell.
