Have a 02 GMC SIERRA base model. Not getting air to the floor. (Air or Heat) Replaced the control unit with very little change. The motor for the blend door works fine. Could it be the blend door its self or something else?

Have you removed mode actuator and see if you can move door by hand ? if door is broken in heater case you should be able to feel it when turning by hand, also have you had actuator motor pluged in but not connected to door and see if it moved, these have several actuators and you need to make sure your testing right actuator motor !

This is not the blend door if air is coming out somewhere else. It could be the mode door or it could be the in cabin air filter that needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: Air conditioner blows hot air after 30 seconds on

I have had this problem. I am not a mechanic...so to correct the issue temporarily, I simply turn off the car and restart. This has worked everytime for me. In extreme cases, I think you can also remove the AC fuse and start the car, which will also reset the computer. I also think that by taking the climate control off the "AUTO" setting has worked in the past.

Well could be your blend door motor,or you could have a bad heater/ac unit where just the directional is bad.

I have a 2002 gmc 1500 sierra problem is my ac is only coming out of the defroster and the lower floor vents even when I have the control unit setting on the foward vents on the dash. What could be causing...

Under the dash is the center is a actuator motor attached to the heat and ac ducts that control where the air is directed be sure it is working, sounds as if it is not, You can replace the motor yourself if it is needed. If memory serves me correctly the motor just screws into the duct work and has an arm on it to move the door. Hope this helps.

Check to make sure the motors are moving hot to cold. The blinking control panel means it has self diag mode. Google how to get the heater control panel to go into self diag mode and when you get codes goggle them too . Prob bad control panel switch or unit

2002 gmc sierra blows Hot air thru ac vent on drivers side. Whats going on? Setings are set for cold air and we are getting cold air thru vents on passenger side.

We have this fairly often on our gm fleet with dual air controls. Replace the actuator and you will be good again (for a while!)

2000 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 v8. a/c heater control problem

your heat/cool and vent selection options are controlled by engine vacuum through small clear tubes attached to the rear of your climate control interface. Other vehicles have small steel pull wires that operate the desired changes. You might try removing the trim and any fasteners affiliated with the interface/console. GENTLY pull outward and look to see if any of these tubes are pulled off or cut/damaged. Did anyone recently install a new stereo in the vehicle? If so, the vacuum tubing and or pull wires that change your outlets could have been damaged when the stereo unit was pushed into place. Hope this helps
