Cylinder 1 misfire detectedrich or lean air/fuel mixture fuel injecter fault and faulty crank shaft sensor

Wow... Thats a lot of diagnostic codes. First... The cyl #1 misfire will cause the Engine to run rich giving you a rich running engine. Therefore the rich lean code. This misfire on cyl #1 can also throw a crankshaft sensor code as it will slow down engine rpm. I would change the spark plug and ignition coil to cyl#1 and have the codes erased and see if that solves the problem. If not, you then need to persue any codes that may reappear.

My Honda dx 1990. Didn't pas smog run to rich

Have you hooked it up to a scan gauge to diagnose it?
Many times if the M.A.P. sensor is faulty, the computer won't recognize the load on the engine and cause to run very excessively rich....lot's if black smoke from the exhaust

If that's not the case and it runs good, I'd check/ change the
Intake Temperature air sensor which tells the 'puter how hot or cold the air is....it's generally small and located in the tubing leading to your air filter.
If not that, then the water temp sensor may be bad, once again telling the 'puter that it's cold and to give more fuel.
There are 2 of them, one for the gauge in the dash
and 1 for the computer. Both located near the thermostat or the head wherever there is coolant flowing.

The easiest thing to do is put a scan gauge on it and check for codes. Many auto part stores like Oriellies or Autozone
will do it for free, and since your 'puter is obd1 it should
be an easy fix.

I hope this was helpful for you and it passes the dreaded inspection.

P0920 catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank

can be many things and causes (50+), but its just 3 (in physics)
1: CAT bad,
2: rear 02 sensor bad. (or air leaks near any 02 on car,)
3: engine runs like crude, misfiriing rich and overheating the poor cat.
4th, could be all 3 at once, seen it, many times. (neglect)

o2 means, oxygen sensors.

2002 Honda CRV backfired with loose rolling pipe like noise.

muffler explosion
#1 reason , EFI running rich as a pig (CEL glowing and warning)
and exhaust cracks, (adds air )
air + fuel = muffler explosion and can blow the whole thing to H3LL
pipes blast off. car.

Starter turns but does not start

what year car, what model and sub model and what engine.
lots of honda's from 1969(70'market) which one.?

no start, can be one of 3 basic things (generic answer ASE)
lost electric power to fuel or spark systems (Blown fuse?)
1: lost of compression 1 more more cylinders
2: lost spark 1 or more spark plugs.
3: bad fueling , too lean or too rich.

if you have spark times number of cylinders
then try test fuel, if test fuel runs car for 3 seconds.
then jump on why the fueling is dead.

Cold start running rich

Hi Malcolm, The cold start operation on all vehicles increases and enriches the fuel to air ratio, making it easier for the engine to start. Most systems also incorporate an 'up idle' which runs the engine at a faster speed until the temperature begins to rise. Regards John

My honda civic lost power and there is oil on the spark plugs what is the proble and how do i fix it

If your plugs are oil fouled, then either the spark is weak and not firing correctly in each cylinder (you would probably have misfire) Or the 02 sensors are bad and the engine is running really rich.

89 Honda Prelude failing emissions rich

is everything stock? and you have catalitic converter in place?

Stop by Schucks auto supply and have them run the codes. i'm sure there is a code if you cant pass emissions. your check engine light bulb is probably out.

and usually the first cause is the first o2 sensor.

Black smoke

toddthechef, the following possibilities:
1. your honda is on fire, call 911
2. does your honda use a lot of oil? How many miles can you drive before you have to add a quart? If it is using a lot of oil, time for a rebuild or swap (engine).
3. your honda could be running way too rich (too much gas) My '92 is fuel injected, sensors tell the ECU (electronic control unit) what the operating conditions are, the ECU determines the correct amount of fuel to the engine. You probably have a bad sensor.countrycurt0
