Reversing light not working

Possible that the trigger switch connection from the reverse gear switch is faulty. You need to check the voltage at the reverse gear switch. If absent the switch must be replaced, If not the wire to the reverse light are open or there is ground issue in the reverse lamp assembly.

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced

Did you replace the back up light switch? Also try having someone watch the lights as you wiggle the shifter while in reverse position with the key on-trace the circuit from the column to the the lights with a test light sounds like a bad switch

My reverse light stays on

It seems the reverse light switch which is fitted on the gear box has sized to 'on' position, the remedy is to replace the switch.
To male sure its the switch, locate it and remove the connection to the switch thn check it out if the reverse light stays 'on' whn you turn the igntion 'on'.
