I have a 1999 ford escort 2.0 that just quit running. i have checked the fuel pump, fuel filter, checked for fire at the spark plugs, checked the fuses and the fuel safety switch and the timing belt and...

Try spraying some carb cleaner in the air intake and see if it tries to run. If it does its a fuel issue. Either you dont have fuel pressure, or the injectors are not opening. What is the fuel pressure? should be approx 40 psi. Does the CK ENG light up when you turn the key on?

Battery indecator light on on dash

Check to make sure that there's power from the alternator to the battery on the charge-back wire. If nothing's there, then your alternator is junk and you'll have to replace it again.

Engine won't shut off '91 Escort GT

Check the fuse box is not full of water.
Thet suffered from leaking windscreens, and it filled the fuse box.
If not, you are looking at a faulty ignition switch.
