Pull no 1 plug and turn the crank until you feel compression under your thumb over the plug hole.. Keep going until the timing mark lines up with the pointer ( about 10 degrees advanced) check and ensure that the point gap are set correctly Place the rotor button facing no 1 plug lead or a mark in the body of the distributor. (hacksaw cut across the lip) place the distributor in the hole allowing for the rotor button to turn because of the cut of the gears . Turn the ignition on and turn the body of the distributor until you see/hear a spark across the points. lock the distributor at this point (This should be just as the points open in the direction of rotation) fit the cap and fit the leads in the firing order. This will get the engine started and by the use of a timing light on no 1 cylinder lead you can set the timing exactly.

if you did you would know that fixya site doesn't do tv shows so you would realize that you are on the wrong webpage

Have electrical issues on a 2004 mazda 3.

I would check every single fuse in the car. Blown fuses can cause weird issues like this. While the initial issue with the mechanic does sound like an alarm problem....the rest does not unless the shop that installed it really butchered the job.

Have a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer 6 cylinders premier. Please tell me or instruct me on how to change the spark plugs. I tired but I think I'm doing something wrong because I can't get them to turn

How long has it been since the plugs were changed? There isn't much mystery to this, righty tighty, lefty loosey... But if your putting a good amount of force on them and they won't turn then they could be seized in if they haven't been changed in a long time, or the last person that changed them didn't apply some antiseize to the plugs threads. The problem with most modern vehicles is they have aluminum heads, and the spark plug is steel, so you get a lot of issues with them getting seized up and galling out the threads, stripping out the plug holes that is. I would go really gingerly on them and try to get them to move, if you get them to move only loosen them about a half turn then tighten it back the same amount, then repeat it again loosening a full turn, then back a full turn, the goal is to just free up the threads before taking it all the way out. I had one really stubborn one once that i had to drive it and get the engine up to temp, then after it was hot i gave all the plugs about a half turn and then left everything to cool, came back a few hours later and they all came out without much trouble. You should always change them with a cold engine though, less chance of thread damage, but if they are beyond easy removal sometimes applying some heat by doing what i did can free them up.

Mgb enigne dies upon reving

67, then go to fuel. About 11 pounds of pressure is what you need. After that, do a compression check. Check timing. Rebuild the carburetor.

I am moving interstate. From Perth to Brisbane in August. We brought a 2012 Nissan Nirvara Double cab ute last month and are having it transported to Brisbane. Once it is in Brisbane, how do I go about...

If you are in the defence services the rego needs not be changed until the current rego runs out. If not as soon as you have a current place of residence you will need to change it over . You will need a road worthy certificate ( available from certified inspection stations) . You will also need to change the address on you licence once you have settled . You can get 6 month or 12 month rego and including the road worthy certificate it will be around $1000.00 (maybe a bit less). If you surrender the plates before you leave you may be entitled to a partial refund from WA and you can get a permit here to drive your vehicle to an inspection station. Information can be obtained from Qld department of transport. gov.com.au as to your legal requirements and possible rego costs.

1981 mgb starts to miss fire after a few miles and refuses to restart until engine cools

If it has original Rochester carb, they had flooding issues. Smell the exhaust for unburnt fuel when it dies. Be careful with flooding issues as they can catch fire with a backfire. Besides excess unburnt fuel, backfire is also associated with retarded timing and interrupted spark delivery..

When pressing gas the car slows down, makes a funny sound. refuses to move faster. it is a mitsubishie galant 2000 .GDI

without more to go on its a BIG guessing game. A shop wil have to diagnose this. I would start by checking the exh for back pressure.

Hi. this is a common issue with this dodge transmission design. there is an issue concerning the factory shift solenoids that are in the trans pan. First, make sure your tranny fluid is at a proper level, Once you have inspected the tranny fluid and filled to specs, i would next move on to a basic transmission flush and filter change as well.

Once the flush has been initiated, you should notice a deference in the shifting. If the shifting is still hard and not normal after the flush and filter change, this will confirm a more serious issue within the transmission itself. At this point, i recommend dropping the trans and taking a look at the transmission control module. test the module for its operational value and test all shift solenoids as well.

Please rate and god bless:)
