How do you change the thermostat on a 1991 f150?

Hi there, It's a fairly simple job. Best thing to do is buy a Haynes or Clinton's repair shop manual at your local AP store for your particular vehicle. Then read up on it in the trouble shooting section or the step by step RR section. You can purchase these at your local Auto Parts store or buy them on line at ebay burdfrenzy

Front hubs dont lock when put in 4x4

Probably a vacuum leak. Tranny has to be in Neutral to shift into 4 low, but should be able to shift into 4 high in any gear. The auto locking hubs work off of a vacuum, if there's a leak in the line, they won't engage. If the 4x4 light is on, but the wheels aren't pulling, that's most likely the problem.

01 f150 4x4 4whell drive will not engage lights on dash come on

I am going to assume that you have auto 4x4, and not manual shift base model.. it just sounds like the servo motor that shifts between 2x4 and 4x4, has gone bad

does it still engage into low range, even though it is stuck in 2x4?
