When I use the door lock on my 2001 Santa Fe, the doors automatically unlock

When I press the door lock, it locks then unlocks all the doors. If I hold the door lock, it keeps trying to unlock until I let go. Sorry my question wasn't more clear.

Greg heard Dec 07, 2014 It's supposed to unlock all the doors when I lock them? I don't think so.

It's supposed to do that. so other people can get in when you do without having to unlock each door from the inside

You didn't say it UNLOCKED the doors when you LOCKED them. You said it unlocked the doors when you used the lock. I assumed you were unlocking NOT locking. Your Programming is reversed. Reload the firmware on the Computer. Probably has to be done by a Dealer.

Either that or if it's a hard wire stand alone system you've got the wires hooked up backwards somewhere along the line.

My drivers side rear door will not open from the inside or outside

I had exact problem Santa Fe 2007 2008 lock was stuck in locked position and door would not open from inside or out. All other doors would unlock with auto key remote. Carefully work the inside lock towards the open position as you lock and unlock the door with the remote. As you press unlock try to assist the lock to open. I did this a few times and the lock became free to the open position and all worked perfectly after this.

Buy 2002 Santa Fe Nov 16, couldn't unlock doors to

i had a problem not unlike this in my santa fe 1.9td uk spec.
my car had been sitting for a few months and when i returned to drive it again the same problem came to light.
i also rep[lsaced the key fob.
it could be one of two things.
firstly the systen might neen re-set. if you disconnect the battery for 2 hours then attach ti again it might work.
if this fails it might be the actuator in one of the doors. if it is faulty then it only semi closes the lock, but it then thinks that has to lock again. and locks the door.
hope this helps.

Hyundai santa fe 2002 remote key fob locking ok but fails to unlock. suspect micro switch faulty. can it be replaced?

Do the doors lock normally when using the manual switch on the dirver's door panel? If so, the problem is in the ETACS module. Here's the wiring diagram:
