Have checked to make sure engine wasn't blown up, the oil and oil pressure, the gas and fuel pump, the fuses, the battery, the ignition switch, the battery cables, the connectivity between the battery and starter, the battery and the relays, the battery and the fuses, the battery and the silenoid. Checked the fuseable links. Can use a hot wire to make the engine attempt to start, but does not start. So it is definitely has connectivity, It just wont crank up or start running. Have not tried to switch out the engine control unit/computer as that is very expensive proposition if it doesn't correct the problem.

Engine will crank only when the # 10 Starter Relay is direct grounded with a test light. Switched out all relays and problem remains the same. Contemplating grounding problem or ECU replacement.

CHECK THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE . IF YOU HAVE NO SPARK THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE PROBLEM. IF IT DOES NOT SPIN OVER WITH THE KEY YOU MAY HAVE A BAD IGNITION SWITCH. THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE IS NOT PART OF THE ECM

I had a Mopar product that had the same issue with cutting out and quitting while it was running. In my case, it turned out to be a manufacturing fault with a T-shaped white porcelain plug that was mounted to the firewall and on the driver's side of the engine. The plug was designed to shut the engine down if it was overheating; a safety measure back in the day. The plug can be replaced easily (and pretty cheaply) so I carried two spares in the glove box after that. But I don't recall the plug ever preventing it from starting.

Remove battery cables and hold hot and ground together for about a minute....if it is a sensor causing the problem this will usually reset it long enuff for the car to start again until it throws another fault....may be your cmp sensor or your crank shaft sensor bad....if that doesnt work it may be that u have timing belt issues....hope this helps

Have you checked the pick-up coil on the distributor? If that's corroded or worn, engine won't fire. It may not be connecting fully, causing low voltage to the plugs, or a no-fire. Also, check cap and rotor or EFI controls FIRST. If there's any sign of corrosion, replace. Also check for loose/disconnected wires in this area.

This is a dodge neon 2005, and does not have a pick up coil, a cap nor rotor, nor a distributor. Dodge stopped producing engines with those things in the 1990s and started using

Has to have something for the plug wires to connect to, right? I mistakenly typed EFI, what's it called? ICM? Can't be more than 2 or 3 dollars, right, like a cap and rotor were?

OK just checked our 2005 Jeep and it has no spark plug wires at all. No idea where the coil, distributor, or spark plugs went. I don't know how it could possibly run.. maybe it's an electric motor that controls all that, somewhere?

Most possible is your cam or crank sensor. Check foro signal and sync between them. I would start with the crank sensor first

if you have power to the fuse and beyond, follow that circuit through the ignition ,, I'd bet thats where your problem is, its going to be the circuit that goes to the relay itself,, since thats where you seem to be having the problem,
