Question about 2011 Jaguar XJ

1 Answer

I have a 2011 jaguar xjl with 24,000 miles. Starts and run ok except when idle, and I am getting 2 codes p0016 and p0366 What could possibly be wrong and how to fix it.

I checked timing, chains and tensioner, replace cam sensors in bank 1 and crankshaft sensor. Codes are still there and restricted performance.

I have a 2011 xjl v8 i crossed battery terminals and my car went dead only getting power to seats and windows and navigation screen. It wont start what fuses can I check or is it a lost cause?

Hello Eddie Pascal,

No lost cause... 2011 xjl v8

There are actually some pretty nice tools to check every fuse in your car... EASILY.

Drawings for popular American vehicles (yes Jaguar) can be found on BBB Industries
(registration required ... bottom).

As for me
I recommend & own the entire set of FACTORY MANUALS for my '95 XJS... & love them (paper: pricy tho).

Many of your vehicles systems operate on reverse polarity...Your major components, alternator starter motor & solenoids, relays should have survived without issue... If there are POLAR capacitors (not placed behind rectifiers as in reduced voltage (most on-board electrics should have survived))...

In-protected POLAR CAPs will have self destructed
(NOT common... if at all).

If you offended anything else there are some major FUSES
(see below) to keep the battery from blowing up and you car fires to a minimum. If you buy them SINGULARLY... they will be quite EXPENSIVE (Check out AMAZON & eBay for kits and tools

Not quite 20 years before your car JAGUAR & Ford got together and pretty well combed the LUCAS effect out of the product line.

If you get into a question... I enjoy electronics ...
Please do comment me back.

My 2011 Jaguar XJL is leaning towards the driver side of the car. You can see the difference in the wheel well spacing from the the right to left. What is the problem and what can I do to solve it.

sounds like the leveling sensor is defaulting...this car is under warranty and should be returned to the dealer to address the only question is is this car showing a fault code on the dash?Normally when their is suspension failure it will show a code...even if you have a malfunction in the shock which will read low pressure in the suspension holding tank the car will throw a I would take it back to the dealer...

Eng management and anti lock lights on fault codes p1699 p0016 B1900. heater fan blows fuse

P1699 is code specific, P0016 is cam/crank positioning correlation sensor A - bank 1. B1900 is code specific too. I will try to get you more info Monday.

I have a 1990 Jaguar Sovereign, 98,000 miles. The problem I'm having is the engine starts and runs, but it lopes at idle and runs rough, seems to be running too rich. I was getting fault codes 44, 37,...

I would change the air filter and clean the fine mesh covering the air flow control unit.
Make sure the connections are good as the sensor screen is tied to the O2 sensor. A new O2 sensor and dirty screen would give you poor fuel burning as the air fuel mix would be bad, and the O2 sensor would read the need for more fuel.......poor economy and running rough as it would not be clean burning.

2003 Dodge Neon: P0016 (already replaced sensors, belt, tensioner

the computer may need to be reflashed. if it is running then it is not a bad sensor. either of those being bad would cause it not to run.

1998 chevy K1500 timing runs ok for 10 miles then loses all pwr

1-timing on truck is ajusted by ecm, when u moved it u cause cam sensor code because it detected timing was off! 2-o2 sensors has the role of detecting air to fuel ratio coming out of exhaust, sends signal to ecm wich collects data from other sensors from that sets timing for best performance,if ecm detects something wrong in system data it will give engine code, that code will point at problem area,in your case o2 sensors probably detected lean fuel ratio that points to fuel system, blocked fuel filter or fuel pump faillure, elect, circuit damage, hope it helped!
