What year F-150 , does the light on the dash blink ? could have a code set in smart junction box ( ford's BCM ) body control module . Actuators at front wheels are vacuum controlled , you can test to see if there is vacuum at the actuator. There is also a solenoid on the firewall near the battery that supplies vacuum to the front actuators !

When in park and put in 4x4, Relay in dash clicks 5 times and both 4wdH and Lo lights come on.

The actuator has a spring that is known to break easily in mid-late 90's chevy's.

My 4wd is stuck inbetween gears i already replaced the transfer case but i told theres something wrong with my 4wd contol module. can you please help me locate it?

The TCCM (Tranfer Case Control Module) is located behind the lower left side of the dash.
What do the indicator lights on the 4x4 selector switch show? Are any on, do they blink, do they follow the switch selection? Whit ignition off, turn the selector switch thru all positions many times. See if this makes any difference in the symptoms.
The other part that can cause 4x4 selection problems is the Mode Actuator, it is mounted on the side of the transfer case.
For more information on the 4x4 system, go to, use the search feature to find threads about the 4x4 system.

Cant get 4x4 to work on 99 blazer ls

there is two separate systems that make the 4x4 work on your truck. The first is the electrical part thatconsists os the switch on the dash;the 4x4 module that is behind the glove box or behind the kick panel onthe passenger side and the electric shift motor on the transfer case. The second part is the front axle actuator system.Your truck is right at the change point as far what system it has for the actuator system. If you can send me the last 8 digits of your vin# i can get that info for you.I do have one question,do the lights on the 4x4 switch on your dash flash nonstop when you are trying to engage the 4x4?

4x4 does not respond at all on 2001 ford Ranger Edge

I have a 2001 Ford ranger edge 4x4 with the 4.0L SOHC. My 4x4 module had to be replaced before I bought the truck used. The previous owner said the module was located behind the plastic panel that is under and to the right of the glove box. Mine makes a clicking noise whenever I turn the switch to 4x4 or 4x2. That's just the solenoid switch that is inside the module working. From what I've heard it's pretty common for the modules to get corroded from moisture over time in that location. Hope this helps. God bless

97 Silverado K1500 350 VTEC 5.7 Stuck in 4 Wheel Drive

If it has the push button 4wd selector on the dash, it is most likely the transfer case encoder motor. Not to bad to replace but you will have to remove the front driveshaft.
