Locksmiths do not have blanks for your keys. So how do I get a blank to match when locksmiths do not have them?

Dear Lillian,
There are locksmiths who make keys from scratch.
I know one in the county in which I live in Florida, so there are many others.
A true locksmith can and will do this.
Some people are just key copiers.
God bless your efforts.

I believe the transceiver ring is more of an antenna, so it most likely require programming. Some locksmiths can do that now.

A Ford dealer and most locksmiths can replace a key please bring your registration or title and photo ID with you when you go. This will be much less expensive than replacing the ignition switch.

quickest and easiest is to go to a dealer and have them cut a key using your vin number --you can also look up if any of the local locksmiths [have to be authorized by the car companies]are authorized to do a vin cut ,last option is to replace the key cylinder

Key coding

Some locksmiths have kept up with technology,so you probably aren't stuck with the dealer to code a new key,but you will have to look around for a locksmith that can do it.

I locked my keys in vehicle. Can a locksmith duplicate door key from information on the title?

If you take the VIN number to the Chrysler dealer they can look up the key code and cut a key. Most locksmiths use special tools to crack the door open and either push the electric rear hatch button or the unlock button ob the door. If any of your windows are open a crack, your can reach in with a long stick or stiff wire and push the button yourself. If there is no power in the car you can take the front grill off , reach the hood lock mechanism, open the hood, and jump the battery to power the locks.

How much is a new key for a 2001 volkswagen newbettle?

That really depends on what you mean by a n"new" key. If you need a copy, that isnt near as much as if you lost the key to it. The price really depends on where you live and how many locksmiths are in your area. The more locksmiths the more competitive they tend to be. I am sorry that i cannot pin point a price for you. I would say that for a total new key (if you lost yours) anywhere from 75-125.00

I misplaced my Dodge Nitro key. The dealer wants

The Customer Learn programming method procedures are as follows:

1. Obtain the blank Sentry Key(s) that are to be programmed as valid keys for the vehicle. Cut the blank key(s) to match the ignition switch lock cylinder mechanical key codes.

2. Insert one of the two valid Sentry Keys into the ignition switch and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

3. After the ignition switch has been in the ON position for longer than 3 seconds, but no more than 15 seconds, cycle the ignition switch back to the OFF position. Replace the first valid Sentry Key in the ignition switch lock cylinder with the second valid Sentry Key and turn the ignition switch back to the ON position. The second valid Sentry Key must be inserted in the lock cylinder within 15 seconds of removing the first valid key.

4. About 10 seconds after the completion of Step #3 , the security indicator in the instrument cluster will start to flash and a single audible chime will sound to indicate that the system has entered the Customer Learn programming mode.

5. Within 60 seconds of entering the Customer Learn programming mode, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, replace the valid Sentry Key with a blank Sentry Key transponder, and turn the ignition switch back to the ON position.

6. About 10 seconds after the completion of Step #5 , a single audible chime will sound and the security indicator will stop flashing, stay ON solid for 3 seconds, then turn OFF to indicate that the blank Sentry Key has been successfully programmed. The SKIS will immediately exit the Customer Learn programming mode. After the ignition is cycled the vehicle may be started using the newly programmed valid Sentry Key.

Each of these steps must be repeated and completed in their entirety for each additional Sentry Key that is to be programmed. If the above steps are not completed in the given sequence, or within the allotted time, the SKIS will exit the Customer Learn programming mode and the programming will be unsuccessful. The SKREEM will also automatically exit the Customer Learn programming mode if it sees a non-blank Sentry Key transponder when it should see a blank, if it has already programmed 8 valid Sentry Keys, or if the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position for more than about 50
