08" Ford F-350 diesel no start.

Truck has experienced issues with cam sensor failure so a new cam sensor was installed. Lift pump is working. Will not start using ether. No computer codes. Need ideas where to start looking. I do have a scanner with data stream capabilities. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does your "wait to start light come on"? If not check fuse#22 under the hood. If it is blown it is most likely your fuel heater inside fuel canister. Unplug the wire on drivers side of fuel canister, replace the 30 amp fuse and try to start. I hope that helps!

We have a 1999 F-350 7.3 desil Truck that can only be started with starting fluid. Once started it spits and sputters. We have replaced the fuel pump and filter and the engine possitioning sensor. We also...

Hm. it's a Diesel. So, it uses glow plugs.
Diesel engines work on the principle of exploding diesel fuel vs. burning gasoline fuel.

If it is spitting and sputtering, there is a possible problem with the fuel that is in the tank.

You see, Diesel fuel, according to Wikipedia, changes its formula drastically from winter to summer to work best in winter or summer climates.

I would drain the Diesel out of the tank and replace with fresh Diesel from your local Diesel Fueling station.

If this doesn't work, then, you may have a sensor gone awry or a compression issue.

Good luck on this one.

Have a 2001 Ford F-350 Super Duty 7.3 L Diesel... with a 30 HP Ford chip. Truck started having "hiccups", like it wanted to cut out and quit running. Took to have cam shaft censor replaced on a recall...

Have you tried removing the chip, reseting the pcm, then test drive without the chip, I do not work on diesels but I know I have had some 5.0s with compatibility problems with performance chips, for some reason on select cars the emissions system would through a fit and make the car run like crud with the chip in ran fine with it out although they accused it ran fine for a few months with the chip. if you havent you might try this just to see

Have you changed your oil? Rotella 15W-40. These engines really don't like old oil. It becomes too thick for the injection pump to work correctly. Another possibility is a bad cam sensor on the front of the motor. Most engines call this the crank sensor but on this engine you have to look it up as a cam sensor.

Truck shuts down

Have the Cam Position Sensor changed. Ford has a recall to replace it to the new style. Typically the CPS does not cause an intermittent problem b ut mine did the same and stopped once the CPS was changed. If Ford will not fix it the new sensor is around $20-25.
