Engines, 101 No year, stated, , no country , nor engine, SSDD.

  1. they crank
  2. then start
  3. then run. (sustained , no stalls)
1,2,3,
so what does fail to do? 1,2,3?
if it won't crank ?, that is starter or key line problems.
if it won't start, ASD relay drop out. problems or lack of tuneup this decade.
wont run, is a how other issue,, ASD drops out in 2-3 seconds
or starts and stalls. stalling is complex.
ill not do comlex until yo answer the 1,2,3, questions.

you have tools?
or just want blind guessing, no starts are caused by 50 things.
ill guess, never tuned up.

SOURCE: SOME TIME MY CAR WILL TAKE 3-4 CRANKS TO START

Clean out the Idle Control valve. remove the air duct from the aircleaner system. spray directly into the valve opening. it is a small component with 2 small hoses . Sludge build up and oil deposits will dirty the valve. If that does not work you can remove it and spray directly into the 2 holes on the underside of the valve. Clean the air filter or replace it.if that is not it, then it is probably the EGR valve.

SOURCE: My security remote dose not work

Hello, It seems as is if you have a remote that will not lock the doors all the time. There can be a couple of reasons that it wont work at times.1 it may have a weak battery,2 there may be some kind of residue inside the key fob itself such as tea, coke, water, or even sweat. This will short the fob out at times.Thank you

I experienced a similar problem on a customers 98 S-10. After much research and probing of electrical wiring, it was a faulty ignition switch. This may not be your problem but it might also? Read on it and test it by hooking a test light to the output side after the switch and if the light dies out when it dies, there is your problem. Here is a tip. Put a fuel pressure gage on the vehicle, route it up under the windshield wiper so you can see it, next hook up a timing light to any ignition wire, run the cords so you can have the light in the vehicle (so you can see it flashing not to set timing) drive the truck and as it dies what quits? Fuel pressure or ignition? At least you know what direction to look further into.

it culd be problem with solinoied switch of starter, or with ignation switch, to find out, when car wont start some one have to check supply at starer solinoid small nut mounted wire, if supply is there then you can go to check if any relay is there before ignation switch if relay is fine you can replace ignation switch.
