hi there under the fuse box where bad fuse was check to see if the plug connectors this is where the fuse plugs into it is probably burnt or damaged . disconnect battery and then unclip or unbolt fuse box look under box to see all wires that connect fuses are all in good shape replace female spade connector where needed and off you go also check to see if alternator is charging proper and not overcharging causing wire and or connector to overheat ok good luck i;ll be waiting response

there is a starter relay in the relay box. check for power going to the relay box , also have your check for voltage going to the starter . check for ing feed at the small wire also . before replacing any more parts , i would think that all off this was done the frist time?

Pull out your spark plugs. Change them if dirty. There might be a problem with the fuel trim, thats causing spark plug to foul up prematurely. A stucked open EGR valve can also cause a multiple mispfire code(P0300) but then it would be accompanied by an EGR code(P402) which means excessive flow detected. Anyways if was indeed a fouled up spark plug change them as well as the air filter.

hi, have exactly the same problem on a 2000 2.5 tdi, have rectified it by removing first fuse at top of box. This controls central locking, stereo & interior lights so now I just have to trace fault. when you reconnect battery I hear a relay clicking from both the left & right hand sides which seems to be on the bulkhead, these relays are not releasing and are discharging the battery after 3 days. If you can live without the above try it, your odometer light will go off too.
Will post soultion when I find it. email@example.com
