SOURCE: 2006 Ford mustang check engine light come on

You need to have it scanned to see what code turned on the light. Check your gas cap, make sure it is tight.

SOURCE: Light on dashboard with car and wrench lit up

This would be your engine check light. First off you need to check all your fluid levels. This includes windshield wiper fluid, brake fluid, oil, transmission fluid if it is an automatic. Remember that the transmission fluid on an auotmatic measuers in pints on the dip stick and not quarts even though it comes in quart bottles. The car must be in neutral and riunning while checking the fluid. Be sure you put the emergency brake on too just in case it ever slipped into gear. Things happen. Check radiator water level and power steering fluid.
With this light on it the computer will drop the engine into safe mode and have less power. If after all the fluids are filled and it is still on then it will be time to take it in and have the mechanic check the computer to tell you what needs repaired. This may cost 75 bucks or more but there is a thousand things that can turn that light on. Unless you can tell me if the car was acting up in any other features prior to the light coming on. If so then let me know and I will try to help you, Good Luck, The Raz

the wrench light means there is-or-was a problem with the elctronic throttle control.
the is no mechanical throttle cable on this engine, it is "fly by wire" so to speak.
ussually when this happens, the computer will not allow anything over idle until the next key cycle and if it sees the problem again, it will only allow idle.
a lot of times this is a throttle position sensor concern or even the thottle actuator itself.
make sure the air filter and housing is claen and secure, installed properly.
you can try to spray some choke cleaner in the thyottle body itself and possibly clean some carbon buts thats probably not it.
most likely you will need a new throttle body assembly..... it comes with a new throttle position sensor on it. good luck

SOURCE: I have a service wrench

Forget the dealer
You get a check light.leave it,and go to a shop to scan it for the code. Then have them diagnose from there and repair.
You have system malfunctions on both vehicles.

My 2008 Mustang V6 will not run right when it's snowing. If the snow is falling from the sky, My engine will stumble and kick and the engine and a wrench light will come on, than the RPM's will start...

Did you get the codes when the wrench came on

You may be spinning in the snow and the ABS is being
activated, in a less than desirable way

I wish I could turn mine off in the Lincoln LS
on a bad snowy day.
That ford abs system is useless in winter
You can't even use the vehicle, it slams on the rear
brakes,then starts to cut cylinders.

I want to go back to the 1960's

I drive a 2006 v6 ford mustang and have noticed i started a fuel leak. It seems to be leaking underneath around where the driver seat is. It also appears as if i bottomed out and may have broke...

fuel leaks are hard to trace especially with no light under the car. raise the car as high as you can very securely
start at an area were the line is dry and slowly wipe the line with a paper towel until you find wetness on it.,
the fuel filter is a few feet in front of the fuel tank also

Wrench light comes on

Not concerned, but it won't go away. You have a malfunction in engine management system. Have a shop scan for codes and take care of the repairs.

A wrench symbol came on in my 2005 Ford Mustang what could this mean

The wrench light is NOT the check engine light! It is a failsafe warning light and usually when it comes on there is a problem with the "fly by wire" throttle. The wrench light will not be caused by leaving the gas cap loose. You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnecting. If this is no help you have no other choice but to take it in for service.

I am a fellow Mustang owner, 2008 Bullitt Mustang.

Good Luck

2005 Ford Mustang V6 sputters

That sounds like bad plug wires or ground.

Performance plug wires are cheap enough to try.

There won't always be a physical break that you can see in the wires.

Good luck.
