Hah, pull the vacuum line off. Unplug the electrical connector. Remove the retaining bolts or clip(s), and put the replacement on. What they say? Plug and play. You don't have to pull the battery cable off, just make sure the ignition key is in off. Real easy.

SOURCE: 1992 vortec v6 motor getting spark and strong fuel

the probem is probably in the injector assembly whichis under the intake plenum.after removing it you will se the plastic tubes and ijector popit valves unlike actual individual injectors.this whole contraption must be replaced as an assembly.you can get repair manuals from this site or go to you library.it may actually be flooding as these had problems with leaking fuel pressure regulators which i think are also only part of the whole assembly.

SOURCE: 1992 Ford Taurus with a 3.8l V6 the cooling fan

The Taurus has Two temp sensors. One for the dash, which is isolated, then one for the PCM, it also controls when the fan relay should actuate. Its a 2 wire sensor, just above the thermostat. If you remove the harness from that sensor, and the cooling fan comes on, at any temp, (should take 5- 10 seconds) then thats your fault.

You need to replace the pick-up magnet for the cam sensor. It is pushed into the cam gear. You have to remove the timing chain to install it.

MAP sensor vehicle v6 motor 1992

What is the question? A manifold absolute pressure sensor is a measure of intake manifold vacuum. The sensor sends a varying voltage signal to the computer based on the actual pressure, or vacuum, in the intake manifold. The pcm uses the signal to help compute amount of fuel required for the given conditions . If engine is accelerated, it has a load on it-vacuum is momentarily reduced. The pcm senses this load and knows to add more fuel.

MAP sensors been around a long time-ever since the onset of fuel injection during the 1980's. The auto giants had to be dragged kicking and screaming into new technology. I have a '92 Buick with a MAF sensor (mass air flow) and no MAP sensor. But my son owns a 2005 Buick century with both a MAF and a MAP sensor. I guess they are getting more sophisticated, more precise in fuel economy. Heaven knows, we need that, given our guzzling habits, appetites, and indulgences. I have been accused of moralizing too much, so I am responding with vigor!

Where is map sensor located

If I recall correctly, the MAP sensor on that vehicle is mounted on the firewall, close to the middle of the vehicle but slightly to the passenger side, just a few inches from the a/c air exchanger. It will have a two- or three- pin plug, and a single vacuum line attached to it, and will be affixed to the firewall by two screws.

Car dying during slow down to stop, and while in park vehicle will move slightly if accelerator is mashed

If this was a EGR problem you would have a rough idle,If you are a 3.1 you are equipt with a MAP sensor this map sensor has a high failure rate with the vacuum hose connection and the MAP itself,This can be you culprit, If you are a 3.8 the culprit is the MAF mass air flow sensor.3_17_2012_8_55_47_pm.jpg3_17_2012_8_55_56_pm.jpg

Should be no different than regular brakes. The only difference is the ABS equipted vehicles have a ring gear on the inner wheel assembly with a pickup sensor other than that should be pretty simple.

Where is the map sensor located and how do I install it in a 1992

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube by loosening the retaining clamps, then tag and disconnect any hoses or tubes.
  3. Disengage the engine control sensor wiring connector from the mass air flow sensor.
  4. Remove the four retaining bolts, then carefully remove the sensor from the vehicle.
  5. Discard the mass air flow gasket.
To install:
  1. Position the mass air flow sensor with a new gasket onto the air cleaner cover.
  2. Install the four retaining bolts, then tighten them to 25 inch lbs. (3 Nm).
  3. Install the air cleaner outlet tube by aligning the white identification mark on the tube with the tube stop on the throttle body, then tighten the retaining clamps to 24-48 inch lbs. (2.7-5.4 Nm).
  4. Engage the engine control sensor wiring connector to the mass air flow sensor.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable, then start the engine and check for vacuum leaks.
