Given the mileage and work done, it's most likely the magnet in the harmonic balancer has come loose and those parts were mistakenly replaced. It's very common in high mileage vehicles as with the sensor failure and most times it is overlooked because the extra labor involved in further teardown would be unjustified if a new part apparently fixes it.

Would this cause all those codes for the replaced parts to come up? All these parts didn't go at once. The camshaft position sensor and alternator were definitely bad and needed to be replaced.

Yes, a loose or broken magnet in one can trigger codes in the other. I've had more than one car where the balancer magnet broke into pieces giving a double signal which triggered a cam sensor fault.

Forgot to mention, this is more of a final check when other diagnostics don't pan out because of the labor involved.

SOURCE: crankshaft and camshaft sensors location in nissan altima 2003

You are incorrect sir. There is a very good Youtube video showing you exactly where it is that is how I changed mine. The Crankshaft is located behind the engine block below and around from the cam sensor which is easly spotted looking at the engine. The crankshaft is in a difficult spot but once you figure out where it is it's easy...ish hope this helps

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100%. Auto Zone will have the fuel filter and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. If it's the fuel pump failure, you have not gotten the car restarted. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know you got your car running 100% again soon and please rate.

What is the fuel pump pressure? When you put the throttle down, there is not enough fuel to match the air inlet and it dies.

My car is running codes P0011 and P2181. Can you tell me what that is please. 2004 vw jetta gl

P0011 - Camshaft positioning sensor
P2181 - Engine cooling temperature sensor.
If you have a repair manual (chilton/haynes/etc) these should be fairly simple fixes.
Camshaft positioning sensor for my car was $35 and took about 15 minutes to change.

2carpros.com suggested the P2181 is also fairly easy to replace

Where is the cam shaft sensor in a 1996 jetta?

1996 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L SFI 4cyl
The Camshaft Position Sensor is located under hood, center, upper engine area, driver side of engine block, mounted in distributor.

This sensor performs the same function as a crankshaft position sensor; providing a signal to the ECM regarding the position of the crankshaft.

Although the camshaft position sensor is an essential input for the ECM to determine ignition timing, information on testing the sensor is located in of this guide (autozone.com / free register).

Hope help you; remember rated this help. Good luck.
