That is most likely the transfer case that is doing this not the differential.

Loud popping noise in passenger side front suspension when turning left. 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T

A loud 'cracking' or rumbling noise suggests that a wheel bearing needs replacing. On front wheel drive cars a worn driveshaft universal joint can cause the same noise

1996 bmw z3 automatiuc transmission. It feels like my drivwe shaft is rumbling where it meets my diferential. Only when I accelerate quickly from a stop.

the rear universal is probably gone bad at rear of drive shaft. does it clunk when shifting from park into drive, get under vehicle, when it is turned off. you can leave it in park. grab drive shaft and see if you can wiggle it. if so its the universal joint on drive shaft.put on e-brake before getting under it. if it is bad, its best to change both front and back universals. Good-day!

Rear end problems

If you are definitely sure it is coming from the rear end you have to remove the rear end cover. You will see the condition of the fluid check the fluid while that is being done. You will have a bird's eye view of the condition of the ring and pinion gears and the pinion bearings. The rumble from the rear end is usually a bad pinion bearing.

If you're not sure it is the rear, another often overlooked problem is the rear universal joint on the drive shaft. You have to remove the drive shaft to check the pinion bearing so you'll find the "U" joint is bad right then and there. If the joint is bad, don't cheese out, get both of them replaced.

Clunking noise when shifting, but not always. It happens on hard acceleration AND low acceleration. I have had the rear end completely gone through. Replaced rear differential. Mechanic said it was...

May seem to be unrelated but, I had a similar problem with my last truck and it wound up being ball joints. It sounds similar, (especially the rocking forward after stop), might be something to check. If you're talking about a 4WD, it could be your transfer case.

2002 f250 shake

You have identified the problem when you pulled the drive shaft and the shake was gone. So you know it is between the tranny and the rear end. If it is not the universal joints, then you have a warped drive shaft.

My 1999 jeep cherokee sport make a grinding sound in the front

They used to do that as "normal" when they had universal joints on the axle ends...I believe you have c/v joints there...If one has gone bad, it's possible that is causing the same problem...Check the boots on the wheel end of the axles...If they are torn, it's a good indication that the joint has gotten contaminated with road dirt and has failed. The hubs are actually a sealed double roller bearing that's used in place of the old style individual roller bearings. If it is really bad, it can bind but usually rumbles and causes a vibration in the wheel at speed. It is located inside the steering knuckle where the axle passes through, and is part of the flange that your wheel bolts to. With the brakes and rotor removed if you feel any roughness when you turn that flange then the bearing is bad...Don't forget turning by hand is far less demanding than turning with the vehicle weight on it so any roughness is magnified far beyond what you feel.

Front end Rumble Simalar to worn Ball joint Noise

the problem with your truck is your knuckle bearings. I just replaced them on a friends truck and it sounds like the same problem. Just look on the inside of the front hub close to where the front axel attaches to the hub. If the seal is gone you will have a ring inside the hub on the axel shaft.
