All dash lights on and yes have done cables properly

  • Richard Dec 06, 2014

ok just thought it worth mentioning as sometimes the small black cable on the battery is put on the wrong side, It sounds like you have a starter motor problem

  • Richard Dec 06, 2014

you have to find the connector plug that leads to the starter solenoid and put a 12v feed to it to see if the starter works

  • Richard Dec 06, 2014

look at the cables coming from the starter there should be a big thick cable to the battery and a thinner one that goes to a black plastic plug

  • Richard Dec 06, 2014

the smaller cable is the starter solenoid actuator and you can put 12v directly to this

  • Richard Dec 06, 2014

it should cause the starter to crank the engine make sure the car is in nuetral

  • Mark Scott Dec 06, 2014

Will give that a try thanks Richard and sorry if I came across sarcastic with the cables wasn't a good day yesterday lol

  • Richard Dec 07, 2014

No probs mate from memory the wire should be black with a red tracer going into the plastic socket

SOURCE: mondeo tdci

hi there, you will need a diagnostic check carried out to locate the exact fault, most garages have the equipment to carry out these checks so you won't need to visit your ford agent, a common fault on the engines is the camshaft sensor these cost around £20 and are very easy to replace, however once you have it tested you will now your exact fault, hope this helps

I'd replace the fuel filter first. Have the battery load-checked to assure full speed from the starter and verify that the alternator is maintaining full charge. Beyond that, I'm not much help.
