If you have the hub locks in ,it will If you have the hub locks out but the transfer case in 4wd it will If you have the transfer case in 2wd and the hub locks out then it may still turn slowly /intermittently from the oil /grease friction driving it.

SOURCE: major bind in 4 wheel drive

Yuo deifinitely have to get rid of one differential to match the other. I would change the rear diff as the gearing in that one will give you really poor mileage... additionally welded spider gears (poor mans positraction) make cornering a nightmare (the outside wheel must turn faster than the inner one on turns, which is why no one uses "spool" type differentials on anything but drag race vehicles (because they only go in straight lines).
As far as which Dana unit you are supposed to have, YOU MUST MATCH THE EXACT GEAR RATIO TO THE FRONT UNIT or, it will destroy the transfer case!!! You could even modify a chevy or ford diff to fit under there, but the ratio match has to be exact!!! To find ratio, count the ring gear teeth and the pinion gear teeth. I don't remember the formula but you need to establish a ratio from these two #s.(divide the ring gear# by the pinion#??? answer is expressed as (answer:1 such as 3.23:1))

SOURCE: ford focus - clunk in driveline in reverse when

Hello mate, check the CV joints that drive the front wheels just behind the brake discs, they are probably worn and need replacing

SOURCE: ford focus - clunk in driveline in reverse when

Drive Axle CV Joint is bad
You will need to replace the complete drive axle,on one side of the vehicle, and inspect the other side as well
You will be getting a rebuilt part.
I believe, when you turn the wheels and back up ,it is the outer joint.

Link between forward drive shaft and the rounded boxy thing( dont know english Word for it) by the rear axel shattered when driving 2 wheel drive on road, why?

The universal joints on the drive line shaft and the differential (the rounded boxy thing) They wear out over time so when you fix this one replace the other 3 also 2 on rear and 2 on front driveline.

Can a four wheel drive be converted to a two wheel drive?

Simplest way is to remove your driveline that goes to the front axle from the transfer case.

How would i know if my cv joint is going bad on my 94 ford ranger 2 wheel drive

A two wheel drive ranger does not have any c.v. Joints. It does have u joints in the rear drive shaft. Worn out u joints can cause vibrations at highway speeds, squeezing noises at low speeds, and in some cases a clunking noise when the transmiissin is placed in park or drive. You can check them by pulling the drive shaft and ratting the joint. If it is stiff or loose than they are likely bad. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Rear knocking noice when accelerating and deaccelerating

need to isolate it. Is it a rear wheel drive? If so, it sounds like a universal joint (would be on the driveline). Grasp it and wiggle it, if you feel any movement or play in it, it needs replacing. some vehicles have more than one u-joint, but they are all on the driveline. If its front wheel drive vehicle, the problem is likely a rear suspension part.

What is the procedure for engaging a 92 ford f-250' 4x4 ?

First thing to do is engage the lock out hubs on the front axels if it has them, they should say "free" or "lock". Turn them to lock. Then inside the cab on the floor hump will be the 2H 4H N 2L slector. Pull the slector lever into 4H and you are in 4WD high range. Do not drive the truck in 4WD on dry pavement, only gravel/dirt or snow. The minor difference between the front and rear wheel speeds will "wrap up" the driveline and make it hard to pull the lever out of 4WD. It is recommended that you back the truck up at least 10 feet after you remove it from 4WD to "unwrap" the drivelines. Your choice as to disengaging the front hubs, but it will save wear and tear on the front axels and dirveshaft if you disengage.
