Question about 2007 Hummer H3 SUV
So far i have called the dealership who basically says to bring it in and have it checked, followed by the standard answer that it will cost $500-$700 to repair.
Dealer is trying to soak you. You have a short in the power lock circuit. It could be as simple as a loose wire in the door(s). If you have a voltmeter, you can check each lock switch individually, if you find one that's bad, replace it. drive H3 for a while, see if you solved the problem. if not try another one. U-tube has a video on the subject, contact local repair shop for another price estimate.
My dealer told me headlight switch repair would be $ 500, local repair did the work for $ 88 including parts.

The ignition is in the ON position.
The vehicle is shifted out of PARK.
The BCM will then unlock the doors when the ignition is placed in the OFF position. Do the exterior lights flash as well as the horn sounding ?
Body Control Module (BCM)

system is an internal function of the Body Control Module (BCM) which utilizes class 2 serial data and various switch input information to perform CTD functions. When the BCM detects an unauthorized entry, it activates the horns and exterior lamps.
When the BCM detects an unauthorized entry, the BCM enters the alarm mode. The BCM activates the horns and exterior lamps for 2 minutes. This is followed by a 3 minute time-out with the horn no longer active. If no new intrusions are detected after the time-out, the horn is not active. The system must be disarmed or the intrusion condition removed after the time-out for the system to exit alarm mode.

Rotate the key from the center to the unlock position.
Press the horn button on the remote keyless entry transmitter.
Count the number of chimes that you hear. The number of chimes tells you which mode you have set.
