The problem will be from a tank venting problem and the codes read should indicate a purge valve solenoid or some other fault in the canister system for the tank

Testimonial: "I noticed it started happening after i changed fuel filter as it was missing. I had to move canister to get to filter and was thinking i could of crossed lines going to solonoid as i had to remove. Also the vent tube at bottom of canister was sticking straight up . I dont get any codes pertaining to canister but then again when i chked it wasnt acting up.Only code i get is for ignition circuit module ... code 14"

Try changing the fuel filter? I would also try reading any codes that may have set. Parts stores like Autozone will do that for you for free.

.Engine stalls, won't idle, bucks at 3700rpm

Sounds like mass airflow sensor to me or your timing jumped. Probably high miles too, eh? Could possibly be voltage regulator but I highly doubt it.

Surging and dropping idle

It could be an o2 sensor. When you are unplugging your battery it causes it to rereset and loose its memory. If the o2 sensor is going out it can cause false readings leading the problems you stated. You can take it and get it scanned you can do what I did and go ahead and replace all my o2 sensors. I figured since one when out, the rest wouldn't be far behind.

Jurking gas smell shifting hard little power when pulling heels

well, there are a few things you can try! a bad tps ( throttle position sensor ) transmission shift issues, bucking, jerking, idle surging, engine cutoff, hesitation on take off, surge while cruising down highway. also be sure your fuel filter is ok! and not plugging up. a maf sensor symtom is surge, slip condition under load, the mass air flow or MAF may be degraded or contaminated. stalling, misfiring, poor acceleration. a light may not come on. you can go to any auto parts store and buy a spray can of maf sensor cleaner. follow directions on can, and this should help alot. good-day!!

How about water or dirt in the gas? It sounds like when the tank gets low this happens, so you need to check the tank out and make sure you are not getting watered down gas. This is very common and would cause the symptoms you are describing. I have a 98 Z28, so let me know if there is anything more I can help you with.

check to make sure airfilter is ok and maf sensor is clean. then check out tps ( throttle position sensor ), here are a few causes of a bad tps sensor--- transmission shift issues, bucking, jerking, idle surging, engine cutoff, hesitation on takeoff, surge while cruising down highway. if light on dash is on get it scanned to find problem code. most auto parts stores will do this for free. auto-zone etc. here are a few symtoms of a bad maf sensor-- surge, slip condition underload. the mass air flow sensor may be degraded or contaminated. stalling, misfiring, poor acceleration. ( a check engine light may not come on ). a lot of times just by cleaning maf sensor cures the problem. GOOD-LUCK!

COMPUTER DISPLAYS A MAP SENSOR SHORT CIRCUIT COULD THE MAP SENSOR PREVENTING IT FROM STARTING. AFTER A FEW HOURS IT WILL START UP AGAIN BUT AFTER IT HEATS UP ITLL DO IT AGAIN..

Won't usually prevent from starting, but can. Definitely creates a number of driveability issues including hard starting, rough idle, stalling, buck/surge while driving, and poor fuel economy.
