It should be pretty easy depending on what vehicle you have most of them you just unbolt from the side wall and use a pair of plyers to unclamp hose or a screwdiver depending on which clamp

Go to the radiator and look for a hose either on top going to the overflow to the bottle or at the bottom hose look for a tee fitting with the hose going to the bottle it's a white plastic bottle search your van for 2002 ford transit overflow tank and you'll see it ok

What is wrong with a saturn sl1 indicator says it is hot after running for 5 minutes

John sounds like your sensor may be bad. Next it could be your thermostat sticking use a temp gun and measure the temp of your radiator at the cap. Do not remove cap. Just take temp. If it is getting hot it should spit water out. Check to see if the electric fan is coming on the sensor to cut the fan on maybe bad or the fan. Hope this helps.

Engine overheating

i would check the thermostat first. even if your mechanic did replace it.the thermostats you buy these days only last about a year or 2.

The temperature hand rises almost to hot

This could be caused by any number of different things or a combination. - Failing thermostat - Slipping fan belt - Thermal sensor bad for gauge or fan control - Radiator clogged with dirt and debris - Bad or failing pressure cap on overflow bottle - Failing head gasket; this will normally show contaminants in oil or coolant and possibly noticeable exhaust fume odors from an open overflow bottle.

Antifreeze is leaking from area around pressurized overflow bottle.

You may have a leaking hose from the overflow bottle, or there maybe a crack in the overflow bottle itself. I've replaced a few of those because they had cracked.

Over heating problem

check your thermostat and water pump, also check if there is any water or coolant in your rad and overflow bottle at all, rad should be full and overflow bottle should be half full

there is a coolant cap on the overflow bottle check it for seal
i'd just replace it
also if you put the new thermostat in backward the overheating would be significant
