I need to find the correct wires to join from the loom to the trailer the diagram i have does not match the colours for instance there is no yellow how do i match the right ones up to the trailer

Use a voltmeter and see which wires in the loom show power when (1) tail lights are on, (2) brake lights are on, (3) each turn signal is on, and (4) which shows continuity with vehicle ground/earth. Match these up with the appropriate wires in the trailer harness.
If your brake lights and turn signals are the same bulb on the towing vehicle, you're all set. If they are different bulbs, you'll need an adapter to get both brake lights and turn signals to work on the trailer.

Yes you can tap into the wiring loom for trailer lights, that is how rental agencies do it on their trailers.

92 Jeep Cherokee trailer running lights wont work

there are 2 systems. you mixed them, (bad_)
that takes a special adapter.
if in USA, ask the Uhaul shop for where to get the correct adapter.

your trailer is wired, old fashion, with separated wire to each function.
the car is not. (wired like 60 chevy)

option 2, is go to jeep and get the trailer kit. bingo.

option 3.?

some walfarts sell em , too.
random look, you must do your homework there, car, year, etc

Where does the trailer battery charging wire connect to on a 2000 silverado 2wd w/o trailer package hook in?

UNDER THE HOOD, REMOVE THE LID OFF THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX. THERE SHOULD BE TWO STUDS STICKING UP, PROBABLY TOWARD THE REAR. DISCONNECT THE NEG. BATTERY CABLE. YOU WILL NEED A 30 AMP AUTO RESET " STUD STYLE" BREAKER. WITH 2 HOLES FOR MOUNTING. MOUNT THE BREAKER ON THE FENDERWELL NEAR THE POWERBOX. USE 10 GAUGE BLACK WIRE. WITH WIRE TERMINALS. GO FROM THE POWERBOX, TO THE BREAKER & FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BREAKER TO THE REAR OF THE TRUCK TO THE TRAILER RECEPTACLE. I WOULD PUT THE WIRE GOING TO THE REAR IN A PLASTIC WIRE LOOM PROTECTOR, AVAILABLE AT MOST PARTS HOUSES BEFORE INSTALLING UNDER TRUCK. FASTEN WIRE WITH NYLON WIRE TIES AWAY FROM ANY EXHAUST PIPES, CAT CONVERTERS, ANYTHING SHARP OR HOT. FASTEN SECURELY IN TRAILER RECEPTACLE, RECONNECT THE BATTERY.

On a cherokee sport diesel what colour wire do i connect the white earth return to at the taillight, 2006 model this is from the trailer connection socket

Is this wire a ground wire from the trailer or is this a wire for the trailer? If you are wiring a hook up for your trailer to plug into, that should be a ground wire and can be hooked up to any good solid metal part of the car. This can ground to the body, chassis or bumper. If you are looking for a wire to hook to, then look at your tail light socket and see which wire goes to the metal base of the bulb, that is the ground wire.

Factory 99 dodge trailer plug wiring

You'll need to disconnect the wires from either the truck connector or the trailer connector...
I highly suggest purchasing a voltage checker- it looks like a screwdriver with a pigtail of wire with an alligator clip on the end. The tip of the 'screwdriver' has a point for probing. The light in the probe will light up...makes it easy to trouble shoot without a helper behind the trailer.
Hook the aligator clip to a good positive grounding point on the bumper or frame(not painted).
then pin by pin on the truck connection, stick the probe on each terminal tab.. and write a simple diagram where you find brake, tail, backup, etc...
Then i'd suggest, taking the connector off of your trailer, exposing the wire ends.
Run again thru your diagram and turn on each light of the truck. As you do, touch the wires from the trailer to that specific terminal. (make sure your ground wire is attached on the trailer) you can mark each wire with a piece of tape and label it which is which.
then simply attach your trailer wires according to your diagram to the terminals in the connector... that should get you in business..
hope that makes sense...
That way if the factory wiring harness remains the same, you'll be able to use it with other trailers if the need arises..

Wiring diagram from truck to trailer

Get a tester light the type with an alligator clip and a sharp point.
Check each wire for your brake lights, blinkers etc.
i.e. With the blinker light on find the correct wire and splice into it with the corresponding light on the trailer. ( DO NOT CUT THE TRUCKS WIRE)
Remove the covering and twist the plug wires around it and tape or shrink wrap if you can.
Hope this helps

Trailer wiring

Make sure you have a good trailer to truck ground. Check the white wire on the trailer harness and make sure you have a good clean contact at the trailer ball. This is a ground source between the two.
