Use graphite powder in the spring and lock palls undo the lock screw and place a small flat washer between the cover and the body to give the return spring more room to move when the screw is tightened up.

you will have to remove the wheel, brake caliper and rotor and remove the studs. Then you will need to install new studs for which you will need a stud installer tool or you can use a lug nut and washers to pull stud through the hub. the stripped out studs can be removed with a hammer. make sure you have the clearance in the back of hub before pounding on them.
There is an adjustment on the steering box.You will see a stud with a nut on top. Loosen the nut,and turn the stud with a screwdriver while moving the steering wheel back and forth. Don't tighten too tight,as the steering wheel won't return to center when turning a corner. If that doesn't stop the clunk,you will need to change out the steering box.
Here's another thought - if the stud isn't too badly stripped, you may be able to use a re-threading die to restore the threads. The thread type and size will depned on the make and model of your car. An autmotive parts store can usually help with this.
If you must replace the stud,
A bad stud can usually be driven out through the back of the axle flange. You said the stud was stripped. You can:
Force one of the lug nuts onto the stripped stud maybe two to three turns , then take a drift pin and drive the stud out the back. The stud will have grooves that hold it in place on the axle flange. You willl hhave to hold the stud head with vice grips and remove the lug nut to get the stud out.
To install a new stud, insert it from the back, add a little grease to the knurls (grooves) and pull it into place with a lug nut. The stud must be firmly seated in the axle flange.
possible causes , part siezed brake wheel cylinder or hand brake cable not returning correctly - first back off hand brake cable then check rotation of wheel - either way it will need stripping down checking - but not too expensive - andy - need to know more just ask
