You have a short, or something that is not turned off that is draining your battery.Did you install something "electrical" lately?
FYI before you replace a battery. Get the car started, disconnent the battery and if it dies, You need a alternator.

My 2000 Chrysler cirrus battery light came on when driving it felt like it lost some power also it shifted hard when put in drive would not go out of first gear lights dimmed wont start just clicks

One of your belts had snapped. Do not drive the vehicle, it might be the belt, which also drives the water pump and is responsible for coolant circulation. The reason the battery light came on is, that your alternator shared that belt with other accessories and as soon as it stopped spinning, the car lost the extra current used to charge the battery. Using battery only, without a working alternator, a modern car will only drive for 5-10 miles, because the battery has to take care of the ignition charging, fuel pump, lights, heat, blower, radio...

97 Chrysler.cirrus starts runs good, when you shut it off it won restart unless it sets for about an hour. Head lights, over head light, Windows ,dash light all work ,but it won't crank over.

Starter motors and solenoids often sieze when hot towards the end of their service life. You may need to replace the starter. How many times will it start in a row Without running it long enough to heat up. If it will start four or five times cold then fail after warming up and the alternator is charging the battery at 13.5- 15 volts you got a bad starter.

2000 cirrus want change gears goes in drive and reverse inside on the dash where it tells you what gear you in all has squares around them speedometer doesn't work

Sounds like a speed sensor, I will look into that, but if the speedometer isn't working, its either cable, or electronic. Being a 2000, I'm guessing electronic. Chrysler have a lot of electronics on the transmission, as they are electronic themselves. I had an alternator go bad and my battery died, and the car wouldn't shift, it actually down shifted while driving. Have your battery and alternator checked first, then sensors. Like shift silinoid, speed sensor etc.

My battery nor my alternator is getting any fire

How are the battery cables? Try disconnecting them at each end and cleaning them. Reconnect and try jump starting. Ifbatterycables are not making a good connection, the alternator can not charge the battery and the battery will go dead.

2000 chrysler cirrus lxi. car starts after 30 secs battery light comes on . lose power, gauges radio. alternator?

Hello, It could probably be the battery suffering a water loss. When there's no water sulfur acid will not be produced and the battery wont charge, therefore it will only work as a current path but once you turn the car off you can't start it. The solution is to check the water levels in the battery and also measure its voltage with a voltimeter. It has to be 12 volts or above ( +/- 5 % ). As a user and not an expert I DO NOT RECOMMEND opening the battery yourself since the acid is something dangerous that can seriously harm you. Let a professional do that, but it's always useful to check the voltage. Should all the previously mentioned steps doesn't work, you can ask about the alternator or its belt (might need to be replaced)

MY 2000 CHRYSLER cirrus wont start if i leave the car idling with the heat on. It will start after i let it sit for at least an hour. Lately it will only start with a jump

Sounds like your alternator isn't charging your battery. Most auto parts stores will test your charging system for free.

Battery light

1st thing to check would be the alternator, to make sure it's charging the battery. If it's not, the red battery light would come on. Most major parts stores offer free battery and charging system checks, they can tell you if the alternator is not charging. Have it checked asap, as the new battery will be dead soon if it's not being charged. countrycurt0

I just Replaced The Battery IN My 99 cirrus but the battery light stays on

You're going to have to test your alternator. All you have to do is start the car, while it's running, remove the negative battery cable. If the car continues to run, you have a problem with wiring. If it shuts off immediately after you remove the neg. cable, you're alternator is no longer working and this is why your battery light is on. The battery in your car's sole purpose it to start the car. After the car is running the alternator then takes over and sends power to everything to the car
