What I would do first is to go to a Volvo shop or dealer who can hook up the VIDA/DiCE interface (DiCE is the computer interface, VIDA is the software) and tell you EXACTLY what the code/problem is.
It could be as simple as an ABS sensor at a wheel.

Once you know what the problem is and had it remedied, you MIGHT have to use VIDA/DiCE to turn off the light. Alternatively, you might be able to disconnect the NEGATIVE battery cable for a half hour to clear it.

If you can clear it by disconnecting the battery and the code comes back, you still have a problem - then it's back to VIDA/DiCE to determine exactly what the car thinks is a problem and remedy that.

I am not entirely sure if you need to get a software update after you've swapped an ABS module, but I seem to remember someone saying that you do...

It's your ABS pump! The same happened me, all the light you mention came up on my dashboard aswel and within a few days the car would not start for me.. Thought it was a dead battery so I hooked up the jump leads to the battery and smoke started coming from the wires out of the ABS pump! Take a look at your pump (its located just in front of the passenger seat at the back of the engine) and look down at the wires to see if they have melted.. You might be lucky and just have to get the wires replaced but if you are like me you will be unlucky and need to get the ABS pump replaced at a cost of €600 to buy (UK price) plus €80 to fit not to mention other labour etc... Make sure you go to an auto electrical guy as a regular mechanic won't have a clue! Stay away from main dealer, w@ankers!!

hello, it is more than likely an air bubble is trapped in your ABS pump itself, if so, it will need to be purged! a speed sensor could turn on ABS light, but will have no affect on hydraulic pressure at a stop, only an ABS (skid) stop. good luck marty
ps.......the pump needs to be purged with a san tool

Abs & brake lites on at all times

Check the wiring to each ABS wheel sensor, more than likely the wiring is chaffed through on one of them causing the fault.

Hydrolic Air Pump Abs Light

Very common on these models is the fuse link in the top of the battery cover (40A) cracks. Costs a couple of pounds but indication on code reading is ABS pump failure.
