Change seat heater control on 2005 Mercury Mariner Premier?

I have a new seat heater control, but cannot find anything that looks like it under the seat. Do I have to take the seat apart? Or where is this part located?

I pulled the seat out, the cover off, and all I see is the seat heater pads with wires. I do not see the control module. I have a brand new one from Ford, but do not see anything that looks like it under or in the seat...

That's the part I have, but don't see it in or under the driver's seat. Would it only be in the passenger seat?

    Didn't fund it...

Hi Randy,

I just saw this, however, by now I am sure the seat should be warm and toasty. This picture is worth a thousand words. And is the solution for a 2004 model. For the record take a look. DO you agree?

You have to pull the seat out and remove the cloth covers to replace the heater.

It could be. Would be the first time that manufacturers don't give specifics.

I pulled and took apart both seats. Passenger seat has something on it, does not match the part, but only power to the seat. I am at a complete loss. Even checked surrounding years and the use the same part #. Any experienced help would be appreciated...

Any insight in where to look next? I checked 2005-2008, and they all show the same thing...

Fell up the side of the back of the seat. They hide stuff in these spots. You will feel foam until you come to a module. If it has the hard plastic back covering, it could be behind it. Not likely though. Call a dealer tomorrow and tell them you work for a local shop, give the name, ask for parts. Sometimes they can tell you where the part is located. Most times though, the pictures are vague.

Where is the OBD connector on a 2010 mercury mariner

Hi Chad,

Here is a follow up for you. The picture provided is from a 2005 with the OBD location. http://www.obd-2.de/carcode/pics/dlc/ford/Mercury-MarinerHybrid-2005.jpg .

Looking at many examples on line from all applications. The majority of these plugs are under the steering column. Either right or left mounted under the dash board.

On some foreign models . Remove the droor between the center console. And it will be mounted on the floor between the seats.

Fare . Well.

This is the actuator for the AC/Heater systems temperature control blend door actuator motor drive, the blend door is sticking and the motor gears are jumping teeth. Very soon you will need to have this problem repaired as you will loose the ability to control the air temperature at the register air outlets.
