Unfortunately there are dozens of possible root causes for your problem. You can check fuses, especially the power windows.
Given the vehicle age, the ignition switch would be suspect. How worn out is your key?
Try this... with car not running, put key in ignition, press and hold driver window up , rotate key from OFF to ON. Did you hear the window motor? If your car sits in a garage try same by holding window down and see if by moving (rotating) key you can find a key position where windows operate.
If you find a key position where windows work, you'll need a new ignition switch. I do not recommend you drive the car if you find key position that works as it could cut out any time, place, or speed.
Try rotating your steering wheel. Give as many firm rotations as it will allow with the engine off. Try turning your key as you are rotating the steering wheel. Usually this is the problem.
Hi Reese, what do you mean by "won't turn over"? Does the engine rotate but not fire, or does it not even rotate? If it won't rotate, perhaps your alternator belt was loose or worn and the battery didn't get charged. If the battery is good and the engine rotates, then the alternator has possibly died. The other possibility, is that the fuel pump had died.
this is a common problem for some people usually its due to the placement of the key when you have turned the car off, rotating it gently in different positions usually does the trick
If the linstrument or parking lights don't dim slightly as you turn the key in the ignition switch there is a high probability that the problem is with the ignition switch electrical contacts or the related wiriing, not the key. If the problem was the key it would not rotate, just as a padlock or door lock would not rotate. Also check the ignition coil to make certain the wiring is iintact and that the coil is producing a spark to the spark plugs. Be careful not to get shocked by the high voltage output of the coil.
